Valencia Stars: Star Power #8

Post by leejay56 » Sun Sep 01, 2019 2:13 pm

The Stars have never had such a power homerun hitting team.. The Stars ended the year with 307 HOMERUNS which is probably one the top homeruns seasons in history. Every player on the starting lineup had double digits in homeruns... The middle of the lineup was scary for any opposing pitcher...

The Stars number 3 hitter Ramón Pagán had his best year.. Pagán hit .283, smacked 48 homeruns and drove in 121..Also add in 49 stolen bases...By far his best year with the Stars. Last season Pagán who is only 22 hit .243 46 89, so a lot of improvement for Pagán, plus he will be back next season and for many years..

After Pagan the Stars number 4 , cleanup hitter is Ángel Zalapa, who had another monster year with the Stars...Zalapa started off slow but he finished so hot, hitting .332, 46 homeruns and had 123 RBI'S....Zalapa only 24 still hasn't hit his prime...Last season Zalapa did have his break out year hitting .295 51 132 Rbis with a WAR OF 7.5..Zalapa War this season is 7.8 so he keeps getting better...

Imagine facing Pagán and Zalapa you might take a breather, but nope, you have power hitter Frank Mahaffey. Mahaffey had another fantasic season this year hitting .257 50 dingers and 107 Rbis...Mahaffey hit his most homeruns this season and over the last 6 seasons with the Stars he now has 236 homers which is an average of 39 a year...

Then you add to the line up every other hitter hit double ditgets homeruns, you really cant make many mistakes pitching this team....Same starting lineup next season.... :D :D :D
