The Stars were hot for most of the year and the last 32 games have gone in the teams first slump of the year. Not a great time for this to happen with now 20 games left in the season.. Over the last 32 games the Stars have gone 14-19, 2-8 over the last tens games and now have fallen to 4.5 games out of first place. Of course a lot can happen over the next 20 games. The Stars need to play over .500 to have a shot at first place.
For the Wild Card the Stars are still only 1/2 game out and if they start winning they have a shot of getting into the playoffs as a wildcard team. It should be an exciting next few weeks...
The Stars power numbers are very good again this season. The Stars have not smashed 265 home runs this season and have a shot to hit 300 dingers this year...
Leading the way is OF Frank Mahaffey who has 46 homers with 95 Rbi's this season. Frank Mahaffey best season in the power department was in was in 2037 when he hit 44 homers with 117 Rbi's...This season Mahaffey has already surpassed that with 46 and has a shot to hit 50 homeruns this season... lets see if Mahaffey can stay hot over the last few weeks...
CF Ramón Pagán has been on fire this season..Pagan now has 42 homers and has driven in 105 Rbi's so far.. Last Season was Pagan best year with 46 homers and 89 Rbi's. Pagan has really improved this season and continues to grow each year. Remember Pagan is only 22 this season...
One of the Stars hottest hitters over the last 60 days is SS Ángel Zalapa. Zalapa really started off very slow after his monster season last year when his stat line was .295 51 132. Amazing!!! This season Zalapa is now hitting .328 37 100 with 20 games to go.. Hopefully Zalapa can stay hot to help carry the Stars into the playoffs....
