The wild, wild Pacific is has all 5 teams very close to the top. Hawaii who is in 5th place has 47 wins and is 3 games out. The Stars are 1 game behind San Fernando 49-41and the Stars are 49-43...So close..
The Stars power is awesome this season. The team has a combined 180 homers and were still in July, which they could hit 200 teams homeruns by the end of July..

SS Ángel Zalapa after a slow start has been very hot lately. Over the last 7 games Zalapa hit .409 with 1 homerun to bring his season stat line to .290 20 57. Much better after April and May .245 13 31 stat line.. When Zalapa starts getting going he is very hard to get out...Last season was his best as he smashed 51 homers...

Catcher Takanobu Nishikawawho finally got his chance to start after starting catcher José Moleno was slumping, had a great week hitting .348 5 homers..Nishikawa will be starting again this week..In his last 4 games he hit 4 homers and 5 RBI'S...This season he is hitting .252 10 homers 26 Rbi's…

DH José García who started slow had a teriffic week hitting .450 2 homers to up his average to .280. García has been the DH for the Stars vs LHP. Last year he hit .259 so he has improved this season....

Gotta love this race. Zalapa is a Star in name and deed. Love stories like Nishikawa making a difference.

Calling your power "awesome" is an understatement. The '39 Stars are on-pace for 317 HR, which would be 5th best all-time, 2nd best in the "modern era" (behind San Fernando's 365 in 2037)...impressive!
