The Stars haven't been this close to the playoffs in many years. The last time the Stars had a winning season was in 2023 when the team won 90 games. Its been a long time and they are two weeks away.
The Stars best SP this season Gerald Keynes, Fractured shoulder blade and will miss 5 weeks. Very bad timing for Keynes. This season Keynes is 12-2 with a 3.43 ERA. The 24 year old is having his best season in his career.
SS Ángel Zalapa is having an incredible season for the Stars. Zalapa now has 48 homers, with 121 Rbi's and his batting average is .292..Zalapa leads the them with a 6.9 WAR. Zalapa is still only 22 and should be the cornerstone here is Valencia for many years...
LF Frank Mahaffey over the last four games had two games where he had 2 homeruns in two different games. Mahaffey hit 2 home runs against the Long Beach Surfers, going 2-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored and then a few days later, Mahaffey hit 2 home runs against the Jacksonville Hurricanes, going 2-5 with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. So far in 2038 Mahaffey is hitting .272, 34 homers and has 103 Rbi's...Last season was Mahaffey best when he hit .310 44 homeruns and drove in 117 RBIS and had a 6.6 WAR...
Mahaffey was drafted in the 2029 first-year player draft (Round 1, Pick 2, 2nd overall pick) by the Valencia Stars and made his debu in 2034 and has been the Stars LF since then...

Congrats on a great season. You deserve it. Valencia is one of the better teams in the league this year and it looks like this is just the beginning of a nice run.

Losing Keynes is a hard break, but Valencia's pitching is maybe a little under-rated. Lee's using a 6--man rotation...there are a couple decent arms in the pen. With that offense, it's enough to make Valencia a dangerous team.

As a fan of the league I'm happy to see valencia good. As a division rival it annoys me greatly.
