The Stars season will end soon and go down as the worst year ever...The Stars need to address a few key areas next year, hitting and relief pitching...They have a good core pitching staff in 26 year old
Keith Cabana 13-10 3.12 era, 27 year old Devon Hyngary 8-13 4.21, 25 year old Jim Seddon 10-11 3.70, vet starter Phil Leftwich 12-11 3.30 and 25 year old Michael Cosme 8-11 3.77...The overall era of the starters were 3.65 which is 4th overall best...The relief pitching has been horrible with a team era of 4.62 which is 9th overall...Free Agent relief pitcher Len Cortese has been a total bust for the Stars...So far in 50 games Cortese has a 6.17 era, 17 saves...In 49 innings he has allowed 58 hits and 22 walks,,,,thats allot of baserunners....

The offense has not given these starters much help this season...The team batting average is .254 which is 11th overall...In fact almost every catagory the Stars are 11th or 12th...So hopefully they can pick up some extra punch next season...You know things are bad when your SS Maddux Vaughn is leading the team in RBI'S with 66...Vaughn could end up with 72 to 75 and still lead the team...The Stars best hitter is a 38 year old future HOF Gary Barr..Barr leads the team with a .320 batting average...The next person close is CF Jean-Paul Jean-Paul at .276....
So with about 10 million to spend maybe the Stars can add a little punch next season.....
