The Stars started the season with a winning record.  They look very good in 2 of 3 categories so far.. The team batting average of .301 is 2nd overall, plus most of the offensive stats are in the top 5 and the starting pitching ERA is 1st overall with a 2.49 ERA. Although the bullpen has had a slow start with a 6.59 ERA which is 15th overall...

SS Ángel Zalapa is off to a fantastic start. Zalapa in 51 AB is hitting .412 9 homers and 18 RBI'S..Remember Zalapa is only 22 now and this kid can hit. Last season in only 127 games he had 30 homers and with 9 to start he could hit 40 plus homers with 100 Rbi's this season.

Free agent pick up 1B Mike Ellis is looking great so far as the Stars new leadoff man. Ellis is hitting .345 with a OBP of .379 and has scored 11 times. Ellis best game so far when he went 4-5 against the Edmonton Jackrabbits, with 3 RBI and 1 runs scored.. Ellis also has 3 doubles, 2 triples and a homerun in those first 12 games.

Free Agent Starting Pitcher Lee McHone has had a solid start for his new team so far. McHone in his first 3 games has no wins but has pitched fantastic with an 0.90 era in 20 innings of work. In those 20 innings McHone has allowed only 12 hits and has 9 k's...The bullpen blew two of his 3 games so with a little help he can pick up some more wins...

Starting Pitcher Luis Salinas pitched a gem
as he pitched a 1-hit shutout against the Vancouver Mounties with 9 strikeouts and 0 BB allowed! Salinas is 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA and in 14 innings he has 13 K's...Salinas missed most of last year with injury.
