The Stars are barely over .500 so far through the first two weeks in July....The Stars are now 14 games behind the Vancouver Mounties...There still is hope though as the Stars are only 2 games behind the California Crusaders for the Wild Card slot....The Stars need to do better than there 2-4 start here in July if there going to catch Cailfornia...
The Starting pitching is still holding the team together as the 3.74 era for the starters is 3rd best...SP Keith Cabana is leading the way with a 10-5 record, and a very low 2.27 era....Last season Cabana won 17 games and is on the pace to do the same this season...Cabana also was named to this years all-star team...
The other All-Star starter 31 year old Phil Leftwich Is having another fine season this year....Leftwich 8-5, 3.26 era was selected to his 3rd All-Star game this season....Also this year Leftwich has gone over the 100 game win mark...

1B Dave Reilly had a great week last week...Reilly who has been struggling had 7 H, 2 HR, 5 RBI, .438 AVG, 1.283 OPS last week...Over all this season Reilly is hitting .244 12 30 after last season's .288 30 91 year...If Reilly can get hot it could be what the Stars need to push past California....

CF Jean-Paul Jean-Paul is having a very good season this year and last week he kept it going with 8 H, 1 HR, 3 RBI, .320 AVG, .946 OPS...Jean-Paul is hitting .289 12 doubles 6 triples 7 homers and 36 rbis...He also has 13 stolen bases....Jean-Paul claimed off waivers by Valencia while with Baltimore in 1999....
