Valencia Stars: 37-45 # 7

The Stars slipped in the standings in June. They started in 4th place in May and with all the injuries June has been the worth month of the season going 11-16 and falling 8 games under .500. The team pitching is still holding up great this year and is 2nd and 3rd overall in the Pacific Division. As good as the pitching has been the offense has been horrible. The team batting average of .253 is 10th overall and the team isn't scoring enough runs to win. The only good news in the next few years help is coming as the Stars have a lot of great specs coming soon.

Rookie Outfielder/1B Frank Mahaffey had a career day. Mahaffey hit for a rare cycle against the Seattle Storm, who still managed to trump Valencia, 7-6. He ended up going 6-for-6 with 1 RBI and 3 runs scored in the contest. This season Mahaffey has hit 15 home runs and posted a .251 batting average and has 42 RBI'S...In June Mahaffey has really got hot hitting ,298 7 homers and 15 Rbi's. Mahaffey is the first of many prospects that will help the Stars get back to winning again.

Catcher José Moleno Is having a solid season this season. Moleno is hitting .288 12 homers and 29 Rbi's. Moleno season is much better than last years disappointing season .257 16 67 stat line. Moleno best season was in 2032 as he hit .277 21 and 77 Rbi's. Hopefully
Moleno can have a solid year and keep up the pace for the rest of the season.

DH Héctor Valentín is having a good year hitting .294 so far but nothing like his .345 season last year and his .330 career batting average. Although his .294 batting average is second best for the Stars. Valentín hopefully can pick it up the rest of the season.

Moleno is a nice little catcher. He's no Jason Dunn, but he's pretty good.
