Valencia Stars: Draft # 2

Post by leejay56 » Sat Mar 10, 2018 8:38 pm

The Stars picked up some solid pieces if they all develop. Hopefully they will all sign and start there career soon.

1. Drafted CF Ramón Pagán in the 2034 first-year player draft (Round 1, Pick 2, 2nd overall pick).
Pagan gives the Stars another very good offensive player if he fully develops. Over 3 years in High School Pagan hit .337 43 homers and 132 RBI'S over 3 years. Pagan also had a OPS 1.085. Defense could be an issue, he has a very strong arm for a CF although has range is only average. Pagan is only 17 and with his strong work ethic he could develop into a Star...

2. Drafted SP Thomas Rodríguez in the 2034 first-year player draft (Round 2, Pick 2, 36th overall pick).
Rodríguez was a good selection in round two as a lot of the SP were already drafted. Rodríguez another HS player in his 3 years had pretty solid numbers. Rodríguez in 155 innings went 11-3, 3.01 ERA, allowed 150 hits, and had 189 K's while only walking 39 batters. If he develops he could have 4 plus pitches. Rodríguez looks to be a solid # 3 or 4 starter...

3. Drafted LF Martin Felix, Jr. in the 2034 first-year player draft (Round 3, Pick 2, 69th overall pick).
Although the Stars have plenty of outfielders Felix looked so good as a offensive player it would be hard to pass on him. Felix
big knock is his defense. Felix could end up as a DH, in the bigs if he fully develops. His High School career he smashed the ball and ended up with a .428 batting average with 48 homers and drove in 178. Also in HS he was the team leader on his team. Felix HS numbers ended up better than Pagan. Felix could be a sleeper pick in the draft.

4. Drafted LF Andrew Zod in the 2034 first-year player draft (Round 4, Pick 2, 101st overall pick). Zod dad, Drew 'General' Zod was a solid player
and played for the Stars from 2023 to 2036. Andrew another HS player with good upside but his D is really lacking. Zod will have to work hard to make it all the way so lets see what happens. Zod did have a good HS career hiting .381 34 157 RBI'S...

I like the legacy picks. Great bats, and Rodriguez could be a really good pitcher.

Just happened to be sorting through this one. These guys still look pretty okay.

[Hopefully we're not jinxing them]
