The Stars have finally edged up over .500 this season as they have a 8-2 run so far the first two weeks in June and 7 of those games are in a roll..The Stars are now one game behind the California Crusaders for the wild card slot..

The Stars offense is looking better this year with a team batting average of .271 and the 628 hits for the team is second best in the JL division. The starting ERA for the Stars is 3.69, which is second best in the JL..So the pen is not doing well and for them to compete and move forward to the playoffs they really need to improve..The pen team era is 5.03 11th overall...
The Stars today wavied MR Johnny Ruffin..Ruffin was given a chance and just could'nt the job done...Ruffin in 22 games was 1-2 but his ERA was 9.53.. :furious:
In 23 innings Ruffin allowed 28 hits walked 16 and had 18 K's...The Stars is Ruffin 4th team and if he doesnt get picked up will either be released or spend time pitching in AAA ball....MR/SP Bradley Nowlin will get a call up for the week..Nowlin was 6-0 with a 2.64 era before the call up...He will probably stay up for a week until MR/SP Armando Martinez comes off the DL and will return in a week...Martinez in 12 games was 1-0 with a 3.50 ERA...Martinez won the MR slot when he had an outstanding spring..In 18 games he had an incredible 0.00 era....

One of the reasons the Stars have done well in June is starting pitcher Jim Seddon finally found his grove..Seddon off to a horrible 1-7 start and in April went 0-5 8.87 era in June went 1-0 2.81 in his first two starts..The Stars are hopeing that this is a trend and he will continue to pitch well...Last season Seddon won 15 games.....
