The Stars last drafted a pitcher in the first round back in 2016...It wasn't because they didn't want to but they always drafted in the middle and never was any pitcher around..
So this year finally the Stars drafted a Starting Pitcher... 18 year old Jack Luna was available in the 17th round and the Stars drafted him...Luna in 3 high school seasons went 5-6 2.31 and a WHIP 1.09..In Luna last year he pitched in 18 games went 2-1 1.80 ERA and in 40 innings had 58 K's and walked only 9....The Stars feel if he develops he could end up a soild back end starter...Luna will start in rookie ball as soon as he signs....
