Valencia Stars: 74-71 (.510) # 7

The Stars had a great week and with only a few weeks left they pulled with in 3 games of Vancouver...The Stars went 7-3 last week and Vancouver was 2-8....

The Valencia Stars were dealt a severe blow when Starting Pitcher José León was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Vancouver Mounties. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 25-year-old reliever out for the rest of the season with bone chips in his elbow. They indicated it would take León at least 4-5 months to heal. Over the season, León has made no relief appearances with no saves. He has K'd 193 batters in 196 innings, yielded 49 walks and has a 3.90 ERA. León's record this year is 12-12. Of all the times for this to happen, : (

2B Vicente Medrano drives in 6 runs against the Vancouver Mounties, going 3-6 with 1 HR. Medrano this season is hitting .260 17 and 71 Rbi's...This is Medrano 12th season with the Stars...

CF Jeremy Gray
had another great game, 4-6 against the Vancouver Mounties, with 2 RBI and 4 runs scored. Gray who last season was horrible hit .236 has really come back and helped the Stars with a .303 batting average with 22 doubles and 25 stolen bases...
