Valencia Stars Report: Off Season # 1

Post by leejay56 » Thu Jul 05, 2012 7:59 pm

The Stars are coming off there worst season ever in there history...One area the Stars must upgrade during the offseason is add more SP and MR help...Both were a disaster last season...SP KEITH CABANA will be back after missing 4 months due to a torn rotator cuff...Missing Cabana probably cost the Stars 7 to 10 wins....So SP Jim Seddon will start the season as the ace of course if he's not traded....
The Stars just traded OF Jonathan Armas for SP Bob Blaisdell from Marquette Suns...Armas
was the Stars future OF until he missed all of 2004 with a injury....Before the injury Armas was averaging .296 22 homers...Last year he did well .285 .393 OBP but the Stars really needed another arm and 28 year old Blaisdell was available...Blaisdell mainly a RP last season will probably get a shot to take the number 3 or 4 slot in the rotation...SO fairwell to Armas as he had a few great years here in Valencia....

The Stars have been middle of the pack for so long. I know you're a believer in building from within but the Armas/Blaisdell trade may be signaling a change in philosophy....we'll wait and see.
