After a disappointing 2061 season, Valencia starting pitcher Thomas Turner has seemed to turn things around thus far in the 2062 season.
In his 11 starts this year, Thomas has went 6-2 with a 3.08 ERA and a WHIP of 1.14. This production suggests that he is on a 3.6 WAR pace for the year.
Over his last seven starts, Turner has went 5-0 pitching 39.2 innings and allowing 11 earned runs on 37 hits and 6 walks. All of this in the midst of the team analyzing the expected rest of the season and shipping off two of their other starters and even putting Turner himself on the trade block.
Over his career, Turner has won 195 games with an ERA of 3.82 and a WHIP of 1.21 while racking up 2,152 strikeouts. Turner has compiled a career WAR of 53.6.
Time will tell whether the Stars will take Turner off of the trade block or if another team comes forward with an offer for Turner before the trade deadline arrives. Turner’s contract is front-end loaded so a team looking to make a push deeper into the playoffs could be in the future.
