Dodd was 2 for 5 with five ribbies and scored a run. CF Carlos Sanchez was 2 for 3 with a walk, stole a base (3), scored a run and drove in one.

Nalany Ahotaein was shaky in his start for Hawaii allowing the Surfers five runs on seven hits and four walks. He struck out three in four innings but lucked out with a no decision. The bullpen gave up just a run over the last five innings with Utkan Gocek picking up the win getting just one out.

Hawaii loses starter Leland ‘Griz’ Rogers after just 8 pitches but Cale Cote stepped up for his teammates. He tossed three scoreless innings giving up a hit, walked one and struck out three to win his 1st game of the season.

The offense took over from there putting up 7 runs before the Surfers put a run on the board. Miguel ‘Thrillseeker’ Martinez led the way with 3 hits including a solo homer (1) in the 5th inning. He drove in two runs and scored two runs. LF Eric Owens was 2 for 5 with a double (7), scored a run and drove in two. Owens is giving fans a look back to 2062’s version when he posted a 39 homer 133 RBI season for Hawaii. Atsushi Gato was 2 for 5 with a couple of RBI. Gato is given plenty of rest days to keep him fresh due to his fragile injury rating.

The Hawaii Tropics sweep the three-game series against the Long beach Surfers.
