Veteran starter Nasir al Din bin Sahir held Hawaii to just one run over six innings to pick up the series opening win for the Lumberjacks. Trops starter ‘Furball’ Einan tossed 6.2 innings allowing three runs on six hits and a walk with seven Ks but took the loss.
1B Harry Surface was 3 for 4 and drove in Carlos Schumann with the Trops only run of the game. Schumann doubled (7) and scored in the 7th inning.

Hawaii starter Buwono Mainaky gave up just a run on five hits, and the Trops offense did just enough to even the series with the Lumberjacks at 1-1. Mainaky walked a coupled of batters and fanned five in 5.1 innings as he improves to 1-2 with a 4.30 ERA. Gheorghe Sollomovici earned his 2nd save with a scoreless inning with a K and issued a walk.
2B Arata Ine drove in three of Hawaii’s four runs going 2 for 4 with a couple of doubles (6). CF Carlos Sanchez was 1 for 4, scored a run and drove in a run.
Portland 5 Hawaii 4- Friday, April 24, 2065

LP- Gheorghe Sollomovici (0-1)

Attendance- 43,854 at The Trail in Multnomah
The Portland Lumberjacks tie the game in the bottom of the 7th then walk off the game and the series against the Trops. Nalany Ahotaein made the start for Hawaii going 5.1 innings allowing three runs on seven hits and left with the game tied 3-3. The Trops took the lead in the top of the 7th but the Lumberjacks tied it up again off reliever Ricardo Sanchez. Finally in the 9th, Sollomovici gave up a walk off homer to Greg ‘Mr. Postseason’ Squires.
Carlos Sanchez was 2 for 4 with a couple of doubles (6), scored a run and drove in a run and also had an assist throwing out Toshikuni ‘Nomad’ Ishida at home. Vicente ‘Yogi’ Martinez was 2 for 5 with a solo homer (3) in the 3rd inning and scored two runs in the game.
The Portland Lumberjacks win the three-game series 2-1 over the Hawaii Tropics.
