Leland ‘Griz’ Rogers gave up one run on seven hits in 7.2 innings but left the game trailing 1-0. Utkan Gocek got Hawaii out of the 8th otherwise unscathed. The offense tied the game in the bottom of the 9th after a Frank ‘Kiki’ Linares error allowed Harry Surface to score the game tying run.
The game went to extras where Mounties pinch hitter Mitchell Goater hit a two-run homer to take the lead. Mounties closer Serge Elovsky set down the Trops 1-2-3 to secure the win.

The Trops batter Mounties starter Chris Parker for seven runs on seven hits in 2.2 innings then rely on their shaky bullpen to even the series 1-1. 2B Miguel ‘Thrillseeker’ Martinez hit a three-run homer (24) in the 1st inning to take the lead. The Trops offense added a run in the 2nd and three more in the 3rd to extend their lead.
Hawaii starter Harry Spurlock tossed six innings allowing four runs on seven hits, four walks and struck out one batter. He improves to 8-4 with a 4.58 ERA. The bullpen kept it interesting with Ricardo Sanchez and Alex Garcia gave up a run in their appearances. Gheorghe Sollomovici pitched a scoreless innings allowing a hit and fanning one to earn his 5th save.

The Mounties use three pitchers to shutout the Trops on just four hits to go up 2-1 in the series. Hawaii also had some good pitching beginning with Martin ‘Lumps’ Garcia giving up just four hits while fanning six batters in five innings of work. Ray Harrison had the blip for Hawaii allowing two runs on three hits and a walk with a K in his inning of relief. Utkan Gocel then tossed 2.2 scoreless and Cale Cote used three pitches to get the final out.

The Trops and Mounties have another pitcher’s duel with Vancouver coming out on top in extras. Both starters gave up just a run on seven innings to bring the game down to a bullpen battle. The Mounties won that battle with Jesus Garcia and Serge Elovsky keeping Hawaii scoreless while Hawaii’s Ray Harrison tossed two scoreless, but Utkan Gocek stumbled. Gocek gave up the go ahead run on a solo homer in the 10th to take the loss.
Buwono Mainaky was the Hawaii starter allowing his one run on five hits, a walk and struck out four. Bob Anderson gave up his run on a solo blast (21) by Jorge Dodd.
The Vancouver Mounties win the four-game series 3-1 and take the season series over Hawaii 9-5.
