lack of gun control
SS Benton Bobke, touted by Al Hoot as the best fielding ss in the JL,
made two errors in Game 1 of the season. Both were throwing errors.
Apparently The Bob is not used to the breeze generated by enormous
fans (no I do not mean humans) that push the air from the outfield
toward the infield.

gun control, in Hoot's view, is how well you aim your gun

3 straight homers
Liao Kuan and Ignacio "Vamos" Ramos hit solo home runs on consecutive pitches
by Phoenix reliever Chris Banks. The next batter, Jeff Mueller, hit a home run off
of Pablo Romero for so-called "back-to-back-to-back" homers. Apparently the
Germans think baseball players have two backs? boxscore

Daffy MacNeill won his first ML game, finally, against Washington, 7 to 2.

Steve Taub defeated his former Crusader teammate Shellenberger for his first win of the
year in a different defeat of Washington, 7 to 2.

Dwayne Johnson has changed his nickname from the Rock to the Wave and has
quietly taken the JL lead in home runs.

In Game 1 and 2, the Tropics won come-from-behind, two-out walk-off victories
against Baltimore's Enrique Reyna, who fans here have dubbed the Hyena.

Bobblehands (not bobbleheads) of C Joe Tillman have been discovered circulating
the island after his 19th inning miscue allowed Phoenix to score the winning run.
