Hawaii’s pitching staff stifles the Krill allowing just a run on four hits while the offense read Paul Worboys well. The Trops scored six runs on ten hits off ‘Hit Squad’ in 5.2 innings to tag him with his 10th loss.
Hawaii starter Gheorghe Sollomovici allowed a run in 3.1 innings but allowed no hits while walking four. He fanned four in the no decision. Cale Cote pitched 1.2 clean innings with two Ks to earn the win and improve to 7-4 with a 3.71 ERA.
Trops 3B Jorge Dodd has put up some incredible numbers this season to give Harry Surface time to sharpen his skills in AAA Death Valley. Dodd was 3 for 4 against the Krill with two RBI and scored a run. CF Carlos Sanchez hit his 19th homer of the season with a two-run blast in the 6th inning.

Game 2 in the series required 14 innings and over 5 ½ hours but the Trops score two to walk off with the win. The Krill had a solo homer in the top of the 14th off Jose Valle to put Hawaii behind the 8-ball. But a key error by Brain Capps kept Hawii in the game allowing a sac fly by Vicente ‘Yogi’ Martinez to plate Mitch Wareham and a fielder’s choice by Dodd that scored Roberto Lopez with the game winner. With the infield in, Lopez beat the throw home and slid under the tag.
Dodd was 3 for 7 with a homer (28) and two ribbies. SS Carlos Schumann was 2 for 6 with a double (37), three RBI, scored a run and swiped two bags (39).
Valle earned the win in extras with 1.1 innings of work surrendering the homer to improve to 11-1 out of the ‘pen with a 4.00 ERA.
Bikini 5 Hawaii 3- Friday, September 21, 2063

The Krill steal the game from Hawaii with a three-run 9th inning that was spear-headed by a two-run homer by Felix ‘I.P.’ Moreno.
Carlos Sanchez was 2 for 4 with a solo homer (20) and Jeff Appleton hit his 11th homer and was 3 for 4.
Gocek took the loss for Hawaii allowing two runs on two hits and a walk in 1.1 innings of relief. Ricardo Sanchez gave up a homer and blew the save for the Trops in an inning of relief but did fan three batters.

The Trops committed three errors on defense as the Bikini Krill double up on Hawaii to earn the series split. Dodd had an RBI in the 1st committed two of the three Tropics errors to give a run back in the 3rd inning.
Daniel Thornton was the victim of these mistakes allowing four runs with three earned in just two innings. He allowed three hits, walked two and struck out two. Cale Cote pitched 1.1 scoreless giving up a hit and Harry Edwards pitched 1.1 clean innings with a K for the two Hawaii bright spots.
Schumann was 2 for 4 with a double (38) and an RBI. Lorenzo Holloway was 3 for 5 with a double (31), scored a run and drove in one but also had an error.
The Tropics and Krill split the four-game series.
The Trops are now 21-8 since losing three straight to the Bikini Krill and 13-6 in September. Hawaii maintains their one-game lead over Portland and two games over Bikini. The Trops will travel to Long Beach to finish the season against the Surfers while the Krill face off with the Lumberjacks.
