Sacramento starter Mario Reyes allowed the Tropics a run and scattered seven hits to lead the Mad Popes to a win. Hawaii starter Semih Gurani pitched five innings allowing a run on five hits and a K in a no decision. Jesus Rios is tagged with the loss after allowing three runs on three hits in 2/3 of an inning.
Mitch Wareham was 2 for 4 with a double (19) and scored a run. Enrique Mendoza was 1 for 4 with an RBI double (14) in the 6th inning.

Hawaii veteran starter Gerardo Rea has most likely made his last start for the Trops. He gave up seven runs on eight hits with two Ks in 2.2 innings in a lackluster showing. In all, Tropics gave up 12 runs to the Mad Popes in the loss and leave Sacramento just a game out of 1st.
Eric Owens has hammered the baseball all season and continues going 2 for 5 with his 34th double and 25th homer of the season. He scored a run and drove in three runs.

Hawaii starter Kinzo Iwamoto was the next victim of the Mad Popes offense. He gave up five runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three in 4.2 innings. He is now 12-6 with a 3.31 ERA.
Carlos Sanchez is enjoying an up cycle year as the new starter in center for Hawaii. He was 3 for 4 with a two-run homer (16) in the 3rd inning. Carlos Shumann was 1 for 4 with a solo homer (8) in the 1st to lead off the game and scored two runs on the day.

The Tropics get an RBI single by Mitch Wareham to break a scoreless tie. Enrique Mendoza had doubled (15) in the top of the 8th and scored on the Wareham single.
The Mad Popes responded with a three-run homer in the bottom of the inning by Badr Isam off Trops reliever Gheorghe Sollomovici.
Sacramento sweeps the four-game series. Hawaii falls to 2nd in the Pacific and one game back of the Mad Popes.
