The Tropics offense is tired and stale while the pitching staff is just awful against the Vancouver Mounties. Carlos Antunez led the Hawaii offense going 3 for 3 with a solo homer (11). Jake Diamond also added a solo homer (6) in the 6th inning.
Barney Lindsey is showing his age as he runs out of gas early. He gave up five runs on six innings on seven hits while striking out four batters in the loss. Harry Edwards gave up a run in his inning of work and Utkan Gocek allowed a run in two innings.

The Tropics fell behind the Mounties 6-1 through 5 innings before scoring five runs to tie the game in the 8th. That didn’t last long as Vancouver’s Greg Glover hit a solo homer off the Teddy Bear to put the Mounties up. Jesus Garcia finished the Trops off with a scoreless 9th.
Carlos Antunez was walked three times by Mounties pitching and was 1 for 2 with an RBI and scored a run. Frank McMillan was 1 for 4 with a walk and a solo homer (7) in the 1st inning. Na’il bin Hakim was 2 for 4 with a solo homer (2) and scored two runs.

The Vancouver Mounties break a tie late again to break the hearts of Tropics fans in Hawaii. John Moore gave up a solo blast to Vance Cooper to take the loss. Jesus Garcia nailed down his 2nd save of the series with a clean 9th.
Hawaii scored their lone run on a solo homer off the bat of Vincente Mendez (8). Jeff Appleton had the Trops only other hit with a double (13) in the 7th inning.

The story looked to be the same for the Hawaii Tropics and their fans as the Mounties worked another 6-3 lead. Finally, a rally happened. The Trops put up five runs on the 8th to take a two-run lead and give a chance for them to avoid a sweep. After a clean 8th from Gocek, Hawaii Manager Rich Kerr sent him back out for the 9th. Gocek responded with another clean inning to secure the win for Hawaii.
Rookie Eric Owens was 3 for 4 with a triple (1) and three ribbies. John Harris was 1 for 3 with two RBI. Antunez was 2 for 4 with a walk, double (13) and scored two runs. Mitch Wareham was 1 for 3 with two walks, two RBI and scored a run.
Vancouver wins the series 3-1.
