The Tropics complete their miserable season with a four-game series against the Bikini Krill. The Trops and Krill have played to a 5-5 tie this season. Tropics fans spilled through the ‘Door’ to see the Trops end their nightmare season. Many had signs praising the Krill.

The Tropics open the series with a combined seven hit shutout of the Krill. Starter Semih Gurani struck out eight batters in 4.2 innings and gave up four hits in a no decision. Bill Williams earned the win after 2.1 scoreless innings to improve to 5-4 with a 3.41 ERA. Utkan Gocek earns his 6th hold with 1.1 scoreless and Bill Phillips gets the final two outs for his 6th save.

The Tropics offense needed just two runs and catcher Frank McMillan scored both runs. He scored the 1st run with a solo homer (23) in the 5th and the second run in the 7th on a passed ball while going 2 for 4.

Hawaii wins 2-0.

The Krill turn the tables on the Tropics as they shutout Hawaii on seven hits to even the series 1-1. John Moore made a nice start but took the loss after allowing two runs on three hits and two walks. He struck out three in 5.1 innings and falls to 0-7 with a 4.20 ERA.

Bikini wins 3-0.

The Tropics rally for four runs to overtake the Krill and steal a win at Forever Field. After Gerardo Rea kept Hawaii close allowing two runs on 5.2 innings, the bullpen shut out the Bikini lineup the rest of the way. Troy ‘Teddy Bear’ Reynolds earned the win with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief to up his record to 3-2 with a 3.36 ERA. Luis Perez earned his 12th hold with a scoreless inning and Bill Phillips earned another two out save.

Felipe Hernandez was 2 for 4 and blasted a two-run homer (24) in the 8th. Vincente Mendez was 1 for 4 with an RBI and scored a run.

Hawaii wins 4-2.

The Hawaii Tropics took a 3-0 lead then gave it away to end the game and the season. They started this game as the season began but ended the game as it finished. Starter Utbah ‘Crawdad Me’ bin Muta gave up two runs on three hits in 4.2 innings in a no decision. Rookie Ed Jordan took the loss after he imploded allowing two runs on a hit and four walks without getting an out. Carlos Sanchez knocked in all Hawaii’s runs with a three-run homer (18) in the 3rd inning to put Hawaii up 3-0.
