Game 1- The River Monsters sprint past the Tropics and extend their losing streak to six games. The game went bad quickly for Hawaii when starter Semih Gurani left the game after a hit on five pitches.

Gurani said, “I never felt I was loose. My shoulder hurt like a bitch.”

Gurani will miss a week and then get re-evaluated. Reliever Chih Kuang came on in the emergency and allowed two runs on four hits, a walk and a K in 1.1 innings. John Moore made his first appearance after that disastrous series in Sacramento. He was on his game with 3.1 scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and fanned two batters. Manny Ortiz was the victim of defensive errors and was tagged with the loss. He allowed four unearned runs on a hit and two walks while striking out two batters in an inning. He falls to 4-3 with a 3.18 ERA.

1B Tomas Borges was Hawaii’s offense going 2 for 4 with an RBI double (8) in the 3rd inning and an RBI triple (3) in the 5th inning. Adhyapayana Mehta and Mitch Wareham were each 1 for 4 and scored a run while Mehta stole his 17th base of the season.

Borges was 2 for 5 with an RBI and scored a run. Chastain was 1 for 3 and walked. Carlos Sanchez was 1 for 3 with a double (15) and two RBI. SS Thomas Kramer was 3 for 4 with a solo homer (4) in the 3rd inning.
