The ridiculous schedule for Hawaii continues with a three-game series in Seattle before returning home.

Game 1- The Tropics break a 2-2 tie with Seattle on a solo blast from Mike Campbell. Campbell was 2 for 3 with a walk, scored two runs and drove in a run. Thomas Kramer was 1 for 4 with an RBI.

Hawaii starter Michael Kalil may be coming out of his doldrums with five innings of work allowing a couple of runs on four hits. He walked three and struck out four and left with the game tied. Angel Hernandez is beginning to feel better as he threw two scoreless innings. He gave up a hit and fanned three batters. He earned the win to improve to 6-2 and lowered his ERA to 5.45. Bill Ritz had been consistent in a relief role as he pitched two innings allowing just a hit, walked one and struck out two for his 5th save.

Hawaii wins 3-2.

Game 2- The Storm score four runs on the 4th and three more in the 7th as they continue their ownership of the Trops this season. Hawaii starter Austin George was roughed up by the Storm allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits and four walks in four innings. He falls to 2-7 with a 5.82 ERA. Jesus Rios had a good appearance with 1 1/3 scoreless innings. He allowed a hit with a K. Utkan Gocek was bad in this one allowing three runs with a K in an inning of work. Chih Kuang ended the nightmare with 1 2/3 scoreless innings. He gave up a hit and fanned a batter.

Adhyapayana Mehta was 2 for 4 with a stolen base and scored a run. Ramao ‘Massacre’ Saturnino was 2 for 4 with two ribbies. Angelo Lucchesi was 1 for 4 and scored a run. Backup catcher Katsumi Matsumoto was 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Seattle wins 9-3.

Game 3- The Storm has the Tropics number this season as the easily take the rubber match and win the series. Hawaii starter Terry Hansen lasted just 32 pitches into this start before leaving the game with discomfort in his throwing shoulder. He allowed three runs on two hits and a couple of walks before leaving the game. He falls to 4-5 with a 3.71 ERA and will be out a couple of months with is injury. Angel Hernandez allowed the run and left the game after throwing just three pitches but will be day to day.

Ramao Saturnino was 3 for 5 with a double and scored a run. Adam Backhouse was 2 for 5 with a double and a solo homer. He scored a couple of runs and drove in two.

Seattle wins 7-3.

The Storm win the series 2-1.

GM Jim Walker said, “Playing on the road and in Seattle is a bad combination this season. We were lucky to get one win. Now we are down a starter, and we must shuffle some guys around. Phil Thompson will move to the rotation. Bill Ritz can start but I don’t want to risk injury with him. We heavily manage his usage.”

Haha. I want him to earn his paycheck on the field not on the IL.
