The well-traveled Tropics embark on an eleven-game road odyssey beginning with a four-game series in Omaha against the Cyclones. The Tropics have a miraculous 3-1 record vs Omaha this season.



Game 1- The Omaha Cyclones score three touchdowns with two PATs and a two-point conversion as they demolish Hawaii in the series opener. Omaha cored 22 runs on 26 hits and scored at least one run in every inning except the bottom of the 8th.

Troy ‘Teddy Bear’ Reynolds served up seven runs to the Cyclones in 1 2/3 innings of work. He gave up nine hits and a walk and struck out a batter. He falls to 3-10 with a 5.45 ERA. Alberto Castaneda followed that with just 2/3 of an inning while throwing 32 pitches. He allowed three runs on four hits and a walk. It took Chih Kuang 36 pitches to get through an inning as he gave up three runs on three hits, a couple of walks and a K. Tye Whitford was equally as bad as he allowed three runs in 1 1/3 innings. He gave up two hits and a walk while fanning two batters. Jason Wellon was blasted for five runs on six hits, two if which were homers. Angel Hernandez allowed just a run in 1 2/3 innings. He allowed two hits, a couple of walks and had a K. Juan Cerda was the lone bright spot pitching a clean 1 1/3 innings with two Ks.

The Tropics offense could manage just four hits on the day. Ramao ‘Massacre’ Saturnino was 2 for 4 with a double and Angelo Lucchesi was 2 for 3 with an outfield assist that kept Omaha from scoring 23.



Omaha wins 22-0.



Game 2- The Tropics are held to a run on three hits and commit three errors as the red-hot Cyclones take a 2-0 series lead. Mike Campbell had two of Hawaii’s three hits going 2 for 4. Quinton Lara had the other going 1 for 3 with an RBI.

Austin George took his 11th loss of the season after allowing six runs (five earned) on five hits and four walks. He struck out three batters as he falls to 6-11 with a 4.28 ERA. Alberto Castaneda bounced back for his poor performance in Game 1 with two scoreless innings. He allowed just one hit and struck out a batter. Phil Thompson pitched an inning allowing an unearned run on two hits with a K. Jason Wellon also had an better outing as he pitched a scoreless inning. He gave up a hit, a walk and struck out a batter.



Omaha wins 7-1.



Game 3- Omaha pitching continues to dominate Hawaii batters as they shutout the Trops to assure a series win for the Cyclones. Hawaii hitters just had two hits as their offense is sputtering. Adhyapayana Mehta was 1 for 3 with a walk and Masaki ‘Icon’ Sato was also 1 for 3.

Semih Gurani threw 88 pitches in 5 2/3 innings allowing five runs on seven hits. He walked two and fanned five but gave up three homers in the loss. He falls to 9-11 with a 4.89 ERA. Juan Cerda had another nice game as he pitched 2 1/3 innings allowing just a hit.



Omaha wins 5-0.



Game 4- The Cyclones completed the series sweep as they take an early 6-0 lead and cruise to the win. Hawaii rookie Juan Martinez served up three homers in 1 1/3 innings as he allowed six runs on five hits and three walks. He struck out two batters and suffers his first BBA loss. He falls to 2-1 with a 3.13 ERA. Chih Kuang threw a 1 1/3 scoreless innings. He walked a batter and fanned three. Tye Whitford followed Kuang with two scoreless innings. He gave up a hit and struck out a batter. Angel Hernandez gave up two runs on an inning with a walk and a K. Dominic Thompson made his first appearance of the series and pitched an inning. He allowed just one hit and struck out a batter. Phil Thompson pitched a scoreless inning allowing a hit and issued a walk.

Adhyapayana Mehta was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored. Ramao Saturnino was 1 for 3 with a walk and a three-run homer in the 6th inning. Al Garrett was 1 for 4 wirth a solo homer in the 5th inning. Frank McMillan was 1 for 3 with a run scored and committed his 1st error of the season.



Omaha wins 8-4.



The Cyclones sweep the four-game series.
