The Hawaii Tropics hit the road once again for a short three-game road trip against the Seattle Storm.



Game 1- The Hawaii Tropics score two runs in the eighth and one in the top of the ninth to take a 4-3 lead. Then, usually reliable reliever Alberto Castaneda coughed up the lead as he allowed two runs on four hits and a walk in 1 2/3 innings as the Storm walk it off. Castaneda falls to 4-1 with a 1.96 ERA. Michael Kalil made the start for Hawaii and threw four innings giving up three runs on six hits, three walks and fanned three batters. Sumitomo Takahashi came on in relief and pitched two innings allowing two hits. He walked a batter and struck out two. Daruna Maddukuri made a rare appearance and had a clean inning with a K.

Rhys Brickell was 1 for 4 with a two-run homer in the eighth inning. Thomas Kramer was 2 for 4 with an RBI and Angelo Lucchesi was also 2 for 4 with a run scored.



Seattle wins 5-4.



Game 2- The Seattle Storm pitched well and had some timely hits to get by the Tropics and wily veteran Carlos Valle. Valle pitched 6 2/3 innings allowing four runs on seven hits with two walks and three Ks. He took the loss and falls to 5-6 with a 4.50 ERA.

Hector Vazquez was 1 for 3 with an RBI. Thomas Kramer was 1 for 4 with a run scored. Rhys Brickell was 2 for 3 with a walk and Ramao ‘Massacre’ Saturnino was 2 for 4.



Seattle wins 5-1.



Game 3- The Seattle Storm earn the series sweep in a low scoring series against the Tropics. Hawaii managed two runs in the finale on just six hits in the loss. Thomas Kramer was the most consistent hitter in the series, and he was 1 for 3 with a double and two RBI. Angelo Lucchesi was 1 for 3 with a walk and a run scored. Ron Shiplack was 1 for 4 with a run scored.

Troy ‘Teddy Bear’ Reynolds pitched well for Hawaii going five innings allowing two runs on six hits and three walks. He struck out three batters in a no decision. Ronnie Sprinkles pitched an inning and took the loss. He gave up the go ahead run on a hit and two walks. He also struck out one but falls to 2-1 with a 4.88 ERA. Dominic Thompson got some work in throwing an inning and allowing just two hits.



Seattle wins 4-2.



Seattle sweeps the three-game series.
