The Hawaii Tropics return home for a seven-game home stand beginning with a three-game series against the Long Beach Surfers.



Game 1-The Tropics put up a five run inning and starter Terry Hansen pitched five scoreless innings as Hawaii wins the series opener. Hansen gave up just three hits, walked two and fanned three batters. He improved to 3-2 with a 4.04 ERA. Dominic Thompson earned the save after allowed just one hit and striking out one batter in an inning of work.

Bart Henstock had a big day for Hawaii going 2 for 3 with a double and a solo homer. He walked, scored two runs and drove in three runs. Stewart Illingworth was 1 for 5 with a run scored and an RBI.



Hawaii wins 6-3.



Game 2- The Surfers dominate the Tropics on the strong pitching performance of a sexy mother fu&(er. Barry ‘Sexy M.F.’ Short allowed just a run to Hawaii on six hits in 7 2/3 innings for his 2nd win of the season. His counterpart in Hawaii, Semih Gurani, allowed four runs on eight hits and a couple of walks. He fanned four batters in 5 1/3 innings. He falls to 1-6 with a 5.51 ERA. Austin George has pitched well out of the ‘pen since his demotion. He threw 2 1/3 innings of shutout ball for the Trops to close out this game. He allowed a hit and struck out two batters.

Ron Shiplack was 2 for 4 with a run scored. He is hitting .357 on the season with a homer and 16 RBI. Bart Henstock was 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI.



New Hawaii Manager Alonso Alonso said of Short, “I hate the mother fu^%ker.”



Long Beach wins 6-1.



Game 3- Long Beach pitchers shut out the Tropics to get the series win. Hawaii hitters managed just six hits in the loss. Michael Kalil went six innings for Hawaii but gave up seven runs on five hits and three walks. He struck out three batters and falls to 0-7 with a 6.40 ERA.

Adhyapayana Mehta and Angelo Lucchesi were both 2 for 4 for the Trops.



Hawaii Manager Alonso said of the Surfers pitching staff, “I hate all those motherfu$%ers!”



Long Beach wins 7-0.



Long Beach wins the series 2-1.
