The Hawaii Tropics play a three-game series against the Valencia Stars.



Game 1- The Tropics leave 19 runners on base and can score just 2 runs as the Stars win the series opener. Hawaii starter Troy ‘Teddy Bear’ Reynolds pitched five innings allowing four runs on six hits and three walks to the Stars to take the loss. He struck out three batters as his record drops to 0-3 with a 6.46 ERA.

Adhyapayana Mehta was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored. Rhys Brickell was 1 for 3 with a walk and a solo homer in the seventh inning.



Valencia wins 6-2.



Game 2- Ramao ‘Massacre’ Saturnino and Stewart Illingworth homer for the Tropics but the Stars double their score for the win. Saturnino was 3 for 4 with a solo shot in the fourth inning. He scored two runs and drove in two. Illingworth was 1 for 2 with a solo homer in the first inning.

On the mound, Terry Hansen made the start for Hawaii throwing 4 1/3 innings. He gave up five runs (four earned) on five hits and a couple of walks. He struck out three but loses to fall to 1-2 with a 5.84 ERA. Jason Wellon failed again for the Tropics allowing a couple of runs on two innings of work.



Valencia wins 8-4.



Game 3- The Tropics get a rare well pitched game, and the offense pushes 8 runs across the plate to avoid the sweep. Semih Gurani allowed justa solo homer over seven innings of work to get his first win of the season. He allowed six total hits while walking and striking out none. He improves to 1-4 with a 5.34 ERA. Wade ‘Einstein’ Williams was called up to the Trops while a struggling Wellon was sent down to AAA to work on his pitching issues. Williams gave up a couple of hits and a walk but fanned a batter in 1 2/3 innings of work.

Adhyapayana Mehta was 3 for 4 with a double, a run scored and two RBI. Karunamaya Makarand was 1 for 3 with a double, a couple of walks and two runs scored. Illingworth was 1 for 4 with a walk and a three-run homer in the sixth inning. Ramao Saturnino was 3 for 4 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI. Rhys Brickell was 1 for 4 with a two-run homer.



Hawaii wins 8-1.



Valencia wins the series 2-1.
