The Hawaii Tropics begin a new era with the first homestand at the new ‘Iolani Palace. The Tropics play a three-game series against the San Fernando Bears.



Game 1- The Tropics losing streak is extended to 11 games as they fall in the first game at ‘Iolani Palace. Hawaii starter Troy ‘Teddy Bear’ Reynolds made a valiant start going 6 1/3 innings allowing three runs on four hits while walking three batters and fanning four. He takes the loss and falls to 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA. Reliever Angel Hernandez pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up just a hit and struck out two to keep the game close.

Adhyapayana Mehta and Ron Shiplack each collected two hits for Hawaii with Mehta also driving in a run.



San Fernando wins 3-1.



Game 2- The Hawaii Tropics fall behind 5-2 before scoring four unanswered runs to earn their first win of the 2052 season. Backup catcher Katsumi Matsumoto led the way for Hawaii going 2 for 4 with a two run homer, two runs scored and three RBI. Karunamaya Makarand also homered and was 1 for 2 on the day with two walks.

On the mound, Terry Hansen made the start for Hawaii throwing 4 2/3 innings on 90 pitches. He gave up five runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out four batters in a no decision. Ronnie Sprinkles kept Hawaii in the game with 3 1/3 innings of shutout baseball allowing just a hit with a K for the win. Dominic Thompson pitched the bottom of the ninth for the save and struck out one batter.



Hawaii wins 6-5.



Game 3- The Hawaii offense falls back to sleep in the rubber match as the Bears win to take the series 2 games to 1. Hawaii starter Semih Gurani was in good form, as he pitched six innings of one hit ball. He walked one and struck out five batters but received a no decision. Tye Whitford and Rich Martinez were tagged for five runs on six hits in three innings of work with Whitford taking the loss to fall to 0-1.

The Tropics managed just four hits and walked three times while fanning six times and leaving twelve runners on base.



San Fernando win 5-0.



San Fernando wins the series 2-1.
