The Hawaii Tropics travel back home to begin a twelve game home stand. They host the Vancouver Mounties in a four game series to kick off the festivities.

Game 1- The Hawaii Tropics had to make two come backs to win the series opener against the Vancouver Mounties. The first come back was a big four run inning in the bottom of the ninth to send the game to extras. Alejandro Ortiz drove in two runs to narrow the gap to 4-2 then Ramao ‘Massacre’ Saturnino singled to drive in Ortiz. Saturnino then stole second base before he was driven in by Angelo Lucchesi to tie the game.

The Mounties took the lead in the top of the eleventh inning on a solo homer and put Hawaii behind the eight ball again. In the bottom half of the inning, Rhys Brickell led off the inning with a double to get the come back started. Ortiz flew out before Katsumi Matsumoto singled allowing Brickell to score from second to tie the game up. Saturnino doubled to put runners at second and third with one out. Angelo lucchesi lined a 1-1 slider from Jorge Fuentes into left field to walk it off.

Lucchesi finished the day 2 for 5 with two RBI. Ortiz was 1 for 5 with a triple, a run scored and two RBI. Saturnino was 2 for 2 with a run scored and an RBI.

On the mound, Semih Gurani made the start for Hawaii allowing two runs on five hits and two walks. He fanned three in 6 1/3 innings of work in a no decision. Jason Wellon earned the win to improve to 4-2 after throwing an inning allowing a solo homer and striking out a batter.

Hawaii wins 6-5.

Game 2- Hawaii starter Daruna Maddukuri struggled against the Mounties lineup and Vancouver pitching slowed down the Tropics offense to even the series 1-1.

Maddukuri gave up five runs on seven hits and three walks as he falls to 2-6 with a 5.47 ERA. He struck out five batters but gave up two homers in six innings. Denny Hamilton pitched two solid innings of relief allowing just a hit and fanning two batters. Jason Wellon pitched an inning walking two and striking out two.

Tomas Guillen was 2 for 4 with a double a run scored and an RBI. Angelo Lucchesi was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored.

Vancouver wins 5-2.

Game 3- The Tropics and Mounties engaged in a pitching duel with Vancouver coming out on top to take the lead in the series 2-1.
