The Hawaii Tropics make their next stop in Sacramento to play a two game series against the Mad Popes.



Game 1- The Tropics give up seven runs in three innings to the Popes and blow a narrow lead to lose the series opener. Hawaii jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first on RBI hits by Rhys Brickell and Carlos Sanchez.

Sacramento tied the game in the fourth with two runs then took the lead with a single run in the sixth inning. The Trops scored two more runs in the top of the seventh on a double off the bat of Adhyapayana Mehta.

The Mad Popes then blew the game open with four runs in the seventh inning and two more in the eighth to secure the win.

Michael Kalil made the start for Hawaii pitching 4 2/3 innings allowing two runs on six hits. He walked three and fanned four in a no decision. Alberto Castaneda gave up two runs on three hits in 1 1/3 innings of relief before yielding to Kirana Shivani. Shivani was gashed for three runs on two hits and a walk while retiring just one batter before leaving the game.

Mehta was 1 for 4 with a double, a walk, scored a run and drove in two runs. Brickell was 1 for 4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run scored. Sanchez was 1 for 2 with a double, two walks and an RBI. Thomas Kramer has provided a little offense this season and was 2 for 4 with a run scored.



Sacramento wins 9-4.



Game 2- The Mad Popes out hit and out pitched the Tropics to complete the series sweep of Hawaii. The Trops could manage just two runs on eight hits while Sacramento pounded out 13 hits and scored six runs.

Austin George made the start and took the loss for Hawaii after throwing 5 2/3 innings. He allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits and a walk. He struck out three batters and falls to 4-4 with a 4.68 ERA.

Rhys Brickell was 1 for 4 with a walk and a solo homer in the sixth inning. Kramer was 1 for 4 with an RBI.



Sacramento wins 6-2.
