The Hawaii Tropics return home for a four gams series against the Twin Cities River Monsters.



Game 1- The Hawaii Tropics get some solid pitching and timely hitting to take the series opener from the River Monsters. Starter Semih Gurani earned his second win of the season with five innings of one run baseball. He gave up four hits, walked one batter and struck out three.

Jason Wellon followed up that effort with two innings of shut out baseball. He scattered four hits and fanned a batter. Sumitomo Takahashi pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief and walked one batter.

Tomas Guillen and Carlos Sanchez paced the Hawaii offense with both having 3 for 4 days at the plate. Guillen doubled and tripled, scored a couple of runs and drove in two. Sanchez doubled, scored a run and also drove in two runs.



Hawaii wins 6-1.



Game 2- The River Monsters hold off the Tropics to even the series 1-1. Twin Cities put up three runs in the second and third innings to sprint out to their lead. Hawaii Starter Michael Kalil took the beating allowing six runs on six hits and a couple of walks in 2 1/3 innings of work. He falls to 5-4 with a 5.19 ERA.

Tomas Guillen was 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI. Carlos Sanchez was 1 for 5 with a two run homer in the first inning.



Twin Cities wins 7-5.



Game 3- The Tropics manage to hold on for a one-run win over the River Monsters. Austin George gives his teammates six solid innings giving up three runs on seven hits and a walk. He struck out three batters in earning the win to improve to 4-3 with a 4.91 ERA.

Rhys Brickell was 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored. Tomas Guillen has had a good series so far as he again produces more than one hit. He was 2 for 4 with two RBI and was caught stealing. Carlos Sánchez was 1 for 4 with a two run homer. Shafiq Zahir was 1 for 1 with a pinch hit solo homer.



Hawaii wins 5-4.



Game 4- The Tropics blow out the River Monsters in the series finale. Hector Vazquez and Angelo Lucchesi both collect three hits for Hawaii and Tomas Franco pitched 2 1/3 innings of shut out relief to earn the win.

Vazquez was 3 for 5 with s run scored and Lucchesi was 3 for 4 with a double and two ribbies. Carlos Sanchez blasted yet another homer. He was 1 for 3 on the day with a two run homer, two walks, three RBI and three runs scored.

Troy ‘Teddy Bear’ Reynolds made the start for Hawaii pitching 4 2/3 innings allowing three runs on six hits and two walks. He fanned two batters in the no decision. Franco relieved Reynolds and gave up a hit and struck out a batter. He improves to 3-3 with a 5.87 ERA. Denny Hamilton pitched two clean innings while fanning a batter to close out the game.



Hawaii wins 10-3.
