The Hawaii Tropics finish off the season with a four game series in Long Beach. The Surfers hold a lead over the Trops in the season series 8-5.



Game 1- Hawaii SP Austin George and two relievers combine for a two hit shut out of the Surfers. George pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up just a hit and three walks. He struck out four batters and improves to 6-17 with a 4.44 ERA.

George said, “I lost a lot of games this season but also gained a ton of experience.”

Jason Wellon pitched 2 1/3 innings with a K. Alberto Castaneda finished the win off with an inning of work allowing a hit and striking out a batter.

Tomas Guillen was 3 for 5 with a double and a solo homer. He scored two runs and drove in three while he was also caught stealing. Hong-vu ‘Topper’ Sam was 2 for 3 with a solo homer in the eighth inning.



Hawaii wins 6-0.



Game 2- The Tropics finally get a win off of Danya ‘Satan’s Whelp’ Tchekanov. It was a pitching duel the entire way with Hawaii holding on to a slim 2-1 lead.

SP Semih Gurani made his final start of the season going 4 1/3 innings allowing a run on three hits and issueing three walks. He fanned five batters in the no decision. Maup Manshert earned the win going 1 1/3 innings giving up just a hit while striking out three batters. He improves to 2-1 with a 2.37 ERA.

Ramao ‘Massacre’ Saturino was 1 for 4 with a stolen base, a run scored and an RBI. Ben Henstock was 1 for 4 with an RBI.



Hawaii wins 2-1.



Game 3- The Tropics and Surfers go into extras tied 1-1 when Hawaii strikes first in the tenth. The Trops put two runs on the board on an Andy Daly double.

Long Beach tied it up in the bottom of the inning on two solo homers. The game remained tied 3-3 until Pedro Hernandez smashed a solo homer off of Dylan Ambross for the walk off win.

Hawaii SP Kirana Shivani had some electric stuff against the Surfers. He pitched 4 2/3 innings allowing just a run on a hit, walked none and struck out ten batters.

Ambross took the loss getting just one out before the dramatic solo homer. He falls to 1-4 with a 6.00 ERA.

Daly was 1 for 1 with a n RBI. Angelo Lucchesi was 2 for 6 and was caught stealing.



Long Beach wins 4-3.



Game 4- The Surfers earn a series split with a monster eight run second inning against Hawaii.
Bill Dempsey was slapped around by the Long Beach line up allowing eight runs on six hits and three walks. He struck out a batter in 1 2/3 innings of work and finishes the season 10-14 with a 3.61 ERA.

Abay Azzouzj was 1 for 5 with a solo homer, two runs scored, an RBI and swiped his 41st base of teh season.



Long Beach wins 9-2.



This series was the Hawaii season in a nutshell. Good pitching at times, bad luck in extras and horrible pitching at other times.



Hawaii and Long Beach split the series 2-2.
