The Hawaii Tropics play their final home stand with a three game series against the Valencia Stars at Diamond Head.



Game 1- The Valencia Stars end the short three game win streak of the Tropics with a four run eighth to take a late lead. The Stars scored the go ahead run on a strikeout and a passed ball allowing the run to score.

SP Maup Manshert started the game for the Tropics pitching 5 13/ innings allowing a run on seven hits. He walked four and struck out two batters in a no decision.

C Ron Shiplack was 1 for 3 with a two run homer.



Valencia wins 5-2.



Game 2- The Stars commit three errors but the Tropics cannot take advantage of the miscues as Valencia holds on for a 2-0 series lead.

Ron Shiplack homered for the second day with another two run shot. He was 2 for 4 on the day . Otto Altaner was 2 for 5 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Bill Dempsey started for Hawaii going three innings allowing three runs on five hits. He walked nine and fanned two but falls to 0-3. Scott Lucas struggled in this appearance allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits. He struck out one batter. The rest of the bullpen shut the Stars down allowing just three hits over the final five innings.



Valencia wins 6-4.



Game 3- The Hawaii Tropics salvage one game out of the series with a one run thriller. The Stars score five quick runs off of Hawaii SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani. He ended with 5 1/3 innings of work giving up seven hits, walking one and fanning three. He earned the win improving to 9-8 with a 4.65 ERA. Rich Martinez pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up just two hits and striking out one. Ronnie Sprinkles followed with a clean 1 2/3. Jon Whaley got the last out to earn the save.

Mike Campbell was 2 for 4 with a three run homer. Logan ‘LJ’ Niles was 2 for 4 with a three run homer.

Hawaii wins 6-5 but Valencia wins the series 2-1.
