The Hawaii Tropics make a visit to Madison for a three game series against the Wolves. Hawaii is 0 for 2047and 2048 against Madison.



Game 1- The Hawaii Tropics end the losing to Madison but lose Atmo ‘Mole’ Ananas for the season in the process. Ananas pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up just a walk and three hits before exiting the game. He struck out four batters and lowered his ERA to 2.81. Bob McConnell came on in this emergency and pitched 1 2/3. He allowed just a hit and two walks while he fanned one. He gets the win to improve to 7-10. Rich Martinez then went two innings giving up two hits before handing the ball to Alberto Castaneda who matched Martinez with two innings of two hit ball. He added to strikeouts to his stats. Scott Lucas finished the game going 2/3 of an inning walking one.

Rookie Adhyapayana Mehta was 2 for 5 a runs scored with an RBI. Mike Campbell was 1 for 4 with two RBI. C Ron Shiplack was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a stolen base.



Hawaii wins 5-0.



Game 2- The Madison Wolves even the series with the Hawaii Tropics. The Wolves score three runs off of Hawaii SP Maup Manshert in 4 2/3 innings. Manshert allowed eight hits and issued a walk while he fanned five batters. He falls to 5-13 with a 4.36 ERA.

Mike Campbell gave a valiant effort for the Trops with a 3 for 4 day at the plate. He had two singles and a solo homer. Adhyapayana Mehta was 1 for 3 with a double, a walk and an RBI.

Campbell is now the career leader in Hawaii runs scored, hits, doubles, homers, RBI and Total bases.



Madison wins 4-2.



Game 3- Hawaii RF Mike Campbell had four hits in five at bats and collected his 2000th hit to lead the Tropics to a series win. Campbell had three singles and a solo homer. He scored three runs and drove in two.

Logan ‘LJ’ Niles helped out Campbell with a 2 for 4 day. He tripled , singled and scored two runs.

SP Ernie Poole was steady going 5 2/3 innings allowing three runs on four hits and three walks. He struck out one and improved to 2-7 with a outrageous 6.32 ERA. Rich Martinez pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up just a hit and fanning two batters. Jon Whaley finished the game with 1 2/3 innings of work. He walked one and struck out two.



Hawaii wins 8-3.



Mike Campbell said after the game. “It was nice to get past this day and move on. It has been a bad year for us.”

Hawaii Manager Ernesto Garcia said of Campbell, “He gives everything he has every game. He doesn’t get the press some of the superstars get but he gets the job done.”

Hawaii GM Jim Walker said, “Best Tropics hitter of all time. He will definitely be in the Lei of Honor.”
