The Tropic News 2048.25
The Tropics continue the road trip with a three game series against the Chicago Black Sox. Hawaii is 0-3 versus Chicago so far this season.
Game 1- The Hawaii offense continues to have problems against good pitching as they score just a run on eight hits. SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani spun a decent game for the Trops going 6 2/3 innings allowing two runs on seven hits. He walked two batters and fanned six. He falls to 4-5 with a 4.35 ERA.
Adhyapayana Mehta was 3 for 5 with an RBI and a stolen base.
Chicago wins 2-1.
Game 2- Former Tropic Jim Wilkinson shut down the Hawaii lineup in eight innings of work. He dominated allowing just three hits and fanning nine batters. Hawaii SP Maup Manshert was up to the task for the Trops going 6 1/3 innings. He gave up just two hits and walked three. He struck out five men in the no decision. The Black Sox scored their runs off of Hawaii RP Ronnie Sprinkles. Sprinkles gave up two runs on three hits in the eighth to give Chicago the margin of victory.
Mike Campbell (1 for 4), Ron Shiplack (1 for 3) and Manny Garcia (1 for 3) were the only batters to get a hit for Hawaii.
Chicago wins 2-0.
Game 3- The Chicago Black Sox topped off a series sweep with another fantastic pitching performance as the Hawaii skip goes to six games. Hawaii SP Zak ‘Hitman’ Johnson pitched six innings allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk. He fanned five batters but took the loss to fall to 6-10 with a 5.08 ERA. Scott Lucas finished the game with two innings of work giving up two hits and fanning one.
Mike Campbell was 3 for 4 with an RBI.
Chicago wins 3-1. The Black Sox sweep the series at home and also sweeps the season series against the Trops.

Yikes, never good seeing a Heartland sweep over a Pacific team. Portland is also 0-3 against Chicago and plays them in a few sims to avoid the same fate.
