The Hawaii Tropics return home for a three game series against the Long Beach Surfers.

Game 1- The Surfers explode for six runs in the seventh inning to take the lead and win the series opener. Hawaii SP Maup Manshert was cruising until getting hammered in the top of the seventh by Long Beach. He finished allowing six runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings. He walked two and fanned five. He falls to 0-2 with a 6.04 ERA.

Mike Campbell was 1 for 4 with a two run homer.

Long Beach wins 7-3.

Game 2- The Surfers destroy another Hawaii starter scoring seven runs in the first three innings to crush the Tropics. SP Zak ‘Hitman’ Johnson was the victim this time. He pitched just 2 1/3 innings giving up seven runs on seven hits. He walked one and struck out three. He falls to 2-2 with a 5.67 ERA.

C Ron Shiplack was 1 for 4 with an RBI.

Long Beach wins 9-1.

Game 3- The Surfers get the series sweep over the Tropics with a great team pitching performance. Hawaii SP Alaric Wullenweber did his best to stop the Tropics losing streak. He allowed two runs on four hits and a walk in 5 1/3 innings. He fanned four but took the loss to fall to 3-3 with a 3.58 ERA.

Logan ‘LJ’ Niles was 2 for 4 with a solo homer.

Sacramento wins 10-2.

Game 2- The misery for the Tropics continue as the Mad Popes score five runs in the top of the ninth to run away from Hawaii at the end for the win. Maup Manshert was a bit better for Hawaii in this start. He allowed three runs on six hits and two walks in 5 2/3 innings. He fanned three batters but falls to 0-3 with a 5.82 ERA.

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.
