The Hawaii Tropics finish their road trip with a three game series against the fading Portland Lumberjacks.



Game 1- The Tropics and Lumberjacks play to a 2-2 tie through nine innings in a pitching duel at the Trail in Multnomah. In the top of the tenth, the Tropics get back to back solo homers from Mike Campbell and Ernest McBride to put Hawaii ahead to stay.

SP Alaric Wullenweber went 6 1/3 innings allowing just a run on four hits. He fanned 13 and walked nine in a no decision. Ronnie Sprinkles came on in relief in the bottom of the eighth and threw 1 2/3 innings of one hit ball to earn the win. He struck out three batters.

Campbell finished the day 2 for 5 with a run and an RBI while McBride was 1 for 4 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI. Logan ‘LJ’ Niles was 2 for 4 and added a solo homer in the seventh inning.

Hawaii wins 4-2.



Game 2- The Tropics get some good pitching and timely hitting to down the Lumberjacks and ensure a series win for Hawaii. SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani pitched 5 2/3 innings surrendering a run on five hits, walked two and struck out five. He improves to 12-10 with a 3.91 ERA. Ernie Poole came on in relief allowing just two hits and struck out one in 1 1/3 innings of work. Alberto Castaneda aded 1 2/3 innings of shut out baseball allowing just a hit, walked one and struck out three.

Lorenzo Gonzales was 3 for 4 with two runs scored. David Guerra was 2 for 3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Larry DeCourteney was 1 for 4 with two RBI.



Hawaii wins 5-1.



Game 3- Everything seems to have come together for the Tropics late in the season as pitching and offense continues to excel. SP Jesus Gonzalez shut down the Lumberjacks for six innings giving up just six hits, walked three batters and struck out four. He improves to 12-10 with a 3.93 ERA. Denny Hamilton was effective for two innings giving up just a hit and fanning four. Ronnie Sprinkles finished out the game with a clean ninth inning. He struck out one.

Ernest McBride was 1 for 4 with a three run homer in the first inning. David Guerra was 1 for 4 with a solo shot in the seventh inning.



Hawaii wins 4-0 and sweeps the series.



The Tropics return home for a three game series against the Vancouver Mounties at Diamond Head.



Game 1- Trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the ninth, the Hawaii Tropics score two runs but fall short in the series opener. Ernest McBride and Jose Camacho hit solo homers to get the two late runs up on the board for the Tropics.

SP Maup Manshert pitched seven innings allowing two runs on two hits, walked four and struck out five but falls to 8-7 with a 3.81 ERA.



Vancouver wins 3-2.



Game 2- The Vancouver Mounties pound out 17 hits and score 15 runs as they crush the Tropics at Diamond Head.

SP Zak ‘Hitman’ Johnson had a poor effort against the Mounties. He pitched just 2 2/3 innings giving up seven runs on nine hits and a walk. He struck out three but falls to 8-16 with a 4.57 ERA.

On offense, the Tropics did get a Grand Slam off the bat of Manny Garcia. Garcia was 1 for 4 with a walk and the homer. He scored a run and drove in four.



Vancouver wins 15-7.



Game 3- Alaric Wullenweber gets the Tropics back on track with a another good start. He gave up just a run on four hits over six innings of work. He walked none and fanned nine to improve to 13-7 with a 3.01 ERA. Ronnie Sprinkles pitched 2 1/3 innings in relief allowing a run on three hits and struck out one.

Jose Camacho was 2 for 3 with a two run homer. He scored two runs and drove in two. He is hitting .276 with 22 bombs and 63 RBI.



Hawaii wins 4-2
