The Hawaii Tropics make their annual trip to Omaha for a four game series against the Cyclones.



Game 1- The Omaha Cyclones score single runs in the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth innings to send the game to extras. The Cyclones then get the walk off win against the Tropics in the bottom of the twelfth.

The Tropics had a 3 for 6 day from DH Ernest McBride. McBride scored two runs to lead Hawaii. David Guerra was 1 for 4 and blasted his seventh homer of the season in the fifth inning.

On the mound, Hawaii SP Jesus Gonzalez had a solid effort allowing two runs on six hits over 6 1/3 innings. He did walk four and struck out six in a no decision.



Omaha wins 5-4.



Game 2- The Cyclones come from behind to tie the game again and send it to extras. But the Tropics get a two run homer in the top of the tenth by Jorge Salas to put Hawaii up for good.

SP Maup Manshert got the start for the Tropics going 6 1/3 innings allowing two runs on six hits, walked four and fanned four. Alberto Castaneda pitched 2 1/3 innings allowing just a run on two hits while striking out two to get the win. He did have a blown save but stayed with it and got the job done.

Ernest McBride was 1 for 5 with a three run homer.

Hawaii wins 5-3.



Game 3- Hawaii SP Zak ‘Hitman’ Johnson continued his Jekyll and Hyde type performances for the Tropics. Johnson was excellent through six innings giving up a run on five hits, a walk and struck out five. He improves to 8-14 on the season with a 4.16 ERA.

McBride Wass 2 for 4 with a triple and two RBI.

1B Tony Hernandez was 3 for 5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. David Guerra was 1 for 3 with a walk, a run scored and two RBI.



Hawaii wins 5-2.



Game 4- The Cyclones and Tropics were tangled in a pitchers duel with Omaha coming out on top to split the series with Hawaii 2-2. Hawaii SP Alaric Wullenweber worked six innings surrendering two runs on three hits, walked three and fanned six. He took the loss to fall to 12-7 with a 3.11 ERA.

RF Mike Campbell provided the Hawaii offense with a solo homer. He finished the day 2 for 3.



Omaha wins 2-1.



The Tropics stay on the road with a four game series against the Twin Cities River Monsters.



Game 1- Hawaii SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani was excellent going seven innings giving up just three hits, walked one and struck out three batters. He improves to 11-10 with a 3.99 ERA. Ernie Poole finished the game off with two innings of work giving up a run on two hits while fanning three.

David Guerra was 1 for 4 with a three run jack in the seventh inning. Ernest McBride continues his hot streak with a solo homer in the sixth. He was 2 for 4 on the day.



Hawaii wins 5-1.



Game 2- The Tropics score six runs in the fourth inning then cruise for another win. Jose Camacho was 1 for 4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI. Camacho has 45 doubles on the season moving him to within 13 doubles of Silas Camarena for the Hawaii Tropics single season doubles record. Camarena set the record in 1998.

Jesus Gonzalez pitched six solid innings allowing two runs on four hits, walked two and struck out ten batters. He improved to 11-10 with a 4.08 ERA on the season.



Hawaii wins 7-4.



Game 3- Hawaii SP Maup Manshert has a rocky first inning but settled in and shuts down the River Monster offense to win his 8th game of the season. He pitched 6 1/3 innings surrendering three runs on six hits, walked three and struck out four. Alberto Castaneda took over for Manshert and was hitless through 2 2/3 innings. He fanned three and earned his 3rd save of the season.

Logan ‘LJ’ Niles has struggled the entire season but was good on this night. Niles was 2 for 3 with a solo homer, a run scored and two RBI. Jorge Salas was 1 for 4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Tony Hernandez was 2 for 4 with a run and an RBI.



Hawaii wins 4-3.



Game 4- The Rivers Monsters avoid getting swept at home with a win over the Tropics.

Ernest McBride was 1 for 3 with a three run homer to get the Tropics on the board. Jose Camacho was 2 for 4 with his 46th double and a run scored.

Zak Johnson was bad in this one going 4 2/3 innings allowing four runs on eight hits, walking two and striking out five. He falls to 8-15 with a 4.26 ERA.



Twin Cities wins 4-3.
