The Hawaii Tropics head north for a three game series against the Vancouver Mounties.



Game 1- The Tropics score eight runs in the first inning then survive a comeback attempt by the Mounties to take the series opener. The Tropics sent ten men to the plate in that first inning outburst and they did it without a home run. Jose Camacho was 2 for 5 batting lead off with a triple, a run scored and an RBI. Tony Hernandez was good at the plate with a 4 for 5 day with two runs scored.

Manny Garcia was 2 for 5 with two runs scored and two RBI. Rookie Stephen Cox had the best day going 4 for 4 with a double, a run scored and two RBI.

On the mound, SP Jesus Gonzalez was fair but walked too many batters. He pitched 5 2/3 innings allowing five runs (three earned) on six hits and five walks. He struck out seven and earned the win to even his recored at 10-10 with a 4.17 ERA.



Hawaii wins 11-9.



Game 2- The Mounties keep the Tropics offense at bay to secure the win to even the series 1-1.

Tony Hernandez was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored. C Ron Shiplack was 3 for 3 with two doubles, a run and an RBI.

SP Maup Manshert labored through 4 2/3 innings allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk. He fanned three and received a no decision.

Vancouver wins 5-3.



Game 3- The Mounties duplicated their Game 2 effort and earned age series win 2-1.

The Tropics managed three runs on six hits in the loss. Jose Camacho was 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI while Mike Campbell was 1 for 4 with a solo homer.

SP Zak ‘Hitman’ Johnson had a rough day giving up four runs on seven hits and walked five batters. He struck out four in five innings of work and falls to 7-14 with a 4.26 ERA.



Vancouver wins 7-3.



The Hawaii Tropics return home for a two game series with the Sacramento Mad Popes before going on another road trip.



Game 1- The Sacramento Mad Popes battered Hawaii Ace Alaric Wullenweber for five runs in five innings but the Tropics annihilated the Mad Popes bullpen for six runs in the bottom of the ninth for a walk off win. The big hit was a 486 foot blast off the bat of Mike Campbell to end the game.

Wullenweber was mortal in this start giving up eight hits and two walks to generate those five runs. He did strike out eleven batters but threw 104 pitches in those five innings. The bullpen bailed him out with four innings of work allowing a run on three hits and a walk.

Campbell was 1 for 2 with a run scored and three RBI. DH Ernest McBride was 3 for 5 with a homer, two runs scored and an RBI. Ron Shiplack was 3 for 5 with a run and two RBI.



Hawaii wins 8-6.



Game 2- The Tropics get the two game series sweep with a shutout of the Mad Popes at Diamond Head. SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani pitched 6 1/3 innings allowing just three hits while walking three and fanning one. He evens his recored at 10-10 with a 4.15 ERA.

Mike Campbell was 2 for 4 with a solo homer.



Hawaii wins 4-0.
