The Hawaii Tropics play a three game series against the Sacramento Mad Popes at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough.



Game 1- The Sacramento Mad Popes shut out the Hawaii Tropics allowing just four hits to take the opener.

Hawaii SP Jesus Gonzalez took the loss allowing two runs on five hits and a couple of walks. He struck out just one and falls to 7-9 with a 3.99 ERA.

Jose Camacho, Ernest McBride, Larry DeCourteney and Lorenzo Gonzales were the only Hawaii batters to get a hit.



Sacramento wins 4-0.



Game 2- The Tropics score four runs in the first inning and cruise to a win to even the series at 1-1.

Ron Shiplack was 1 for 5 with a three run homer, a run scored and four RBI.

Ernest McBride was 2 for 4 with a double, a walk, two runs scored and two RBI.

SP Maup Manshert was excellent going eight innings allowing three runs (one earned) on seven hit and a walk. He fanned one and improves to 6-6 with a 3.82 ERA. Ronnie Sprinkles pitched a clean ninth inning to finish the game.



Hawaii wins 7-3.



Game 3- The Tropics score six runs in fifth inning to take the lead and and hold on to win the rubber game to take the series.

Jose Camacho was 3 for 4 with a solo homer, two runs scored and two RBI.

David Guerra was 1 for 3 with a walk, a run and two RBI.

SP Zak ‘Hitman’ Johnson did just enough to keep the Tropics ahead then depended on his bullpen to finish off the win. Johnson pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up four runs on eight hits and two walks. He struck out two and improves to 6-12 with a 4.31 ERA.

Felipe Lopez came on in relief in the sixth inning and pitched 1 2/3 innings allowing three hits and a walk while striking out two for his fifth hold of the season.



Hawaii wins 7-4.



The Tropics head north to Seattle for a two game series against the Storm.



Game 1- Hawaii Ace Alaric Wullenweber throws 112 pitches in a strong performance against the Seattle Storm in the series opener. Wullenweber went seven innings allowing three runs )two earned) on eight hits, three walks and struck out seven batters. He improves to 10-5 with a 3.06 ERA on the season.

Ernest McBride powered the offense going 3 for 5 with a double, a homer, two runs scored and three RBI.

Larry DeCourteney was 2 for 4 with a solo homer.



Hawaii wins 7-3.



Game 2- The Hawaii Tropics score two runs in the ninth to tie the game but the Storm get a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth for the walk off win.

CF Manny Garcia was 2 for 4 with a two run homer.

SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani pitched six innings giving up five runs (two runs) on seven hits and a walk. He fanned three in a no decision.


Seattle wins 10-6.
