The Tropics make their nest stop on their road trip in Yellow Springs for a four game series against the Nine.



Game 1- The Hawaii Tropics take a a two run lead over the Nine with a four run seventh inning but Yellow Springs scores one in the eighth and two in the bottom of the ninth to get a walk off win.

SP Alaric Wullenweber went only 5 1/3 innings and surrendered three runs on six hits and walked one. He fanned ten batters in the no decision.

Lorenzo Gonzales was 3 for 3 with a run scored and a sacrifice.

CF Manny Garcia was 2 for 3 with a runs scored and an RBI.

Logan ‘LJ’ Niles was 1 for 1 with a pinch hit single that drove in two runs.



Yellow Springs wins 8-7.



Game 2- The Tropics hold the Nine to just four hits to even the series in a pitching duel.

Hawaii SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani pitched 4 1/3 innings throwing 95 pitches. He allowed just three hits and walked three while striking out six. Ernie Poole came on in relief and pitched 2 2/3 innings of no hit baseball with a K. He received the win to go to 3-0 on the season.

LF Jose Camacho was 1 for 5 with a double and an RBI.

Back up C Norberto Salinas was 3 for 4 with a solo homer, two runs scored and an RBI.



Hawaii wins 2-0.



Game 3- The Tropics send 12 batter to the plate in the sixth inning to take the lead and hold on for the win over the NIne.

Rookie 2B Stephen Cox was 2 for 5 with two doubles, a run scored and two RBI.

RF Mike Campbell was 3 for 5 with a triple, a run and an RBI.

Lorenzo Gonzales was 3 for 5 with a run and an RBI.

SP Jesus Gonzalez pitched 4 1/3 innings allowing five runs on nine hits and fanned two. Denny Hamilton pitches an inning and allowed just a hit but gets the win to improve to 3-0. Ernie Poole pitched 1 2/3 innings and gave up just a hit.



Hawaii wins 7-6.



Game 4- The Yellow Springs Nine score six unanswered runs to earn a series split against the Hawaii Tropics.

Hawaii SP Maup Manshert gave a good effort going six innings allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks. He struck out four in the no decision.

Lorenzo Gonzales was 2 for 4 with an RBI.

David Guerra was 1 for 4 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI.



Yellow Springs wins 7-2.



The Tropics return home to face division rival Long Beach Surfers in a three game series.



Game 1- The Hawaii pitching staff could not keep the ball in the park as the Surfers pummel the Tropics the series opener.

SP Zak ‘Hitman’ Johnson struggled through 5 1/3 innings giving up four runs (three earned) on seven hits and fanned four. He falls to 5-12 with a 4.22 ERA.

Manny Garcia was 1 for 3 with a solo homer.

Stephen Cox was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored.



Long Beach wins 8-2.



Game 2- The Tropics struggled against Danya Tchekanov but broke out against the Surfers bullpen to even the series 1-1.

Alaric Wullenweber pitched 7 1/3 innings and did just enough to keep Hawaii in the game. He allowing four runs on five hits (four homers) with no walks and eleven Ks.

DH Ernest McBride paced the Tropics offense with a 2 for 4 day. He doubled and hit a three run homer. He scored two runs and drove in four.



Hawaii wins 6-5.



Game 3- Hawaii Starter Nick Destefani was masterful in the rubber game against the Long Beach Surfers. Destefani went nine innings allowing just a run on five hits, walked one and struck out seven. He improves to 7-10 with a 4.20 ERA this season.

Jose Camacho was 1 for 3 with a solo homer and two runs scored.

C Ron Shiplack was 2 for 4 with a two run homer.



Hawaii was 4-1 and wins the series 2-1.
