The Hawaii Tropics return home for a four game series against the Vancouver Mounties at Diamond Head.



Game 1- The Tropics used a team effort to get by the Mounties in the series opener. Hawaii utilized a bullpen day and limited the Mounties to three runs on nine hits. On offense, the Tropics git homers from 3B Hector Ojeda (1 for 2), CF Manny Garcia (1 for 2 with a walk and a SB) and RF Mike Campbell (2 for 3).



Hawaii wins 5-3.



Game 2- Hawaii SP Alaric Wullenweber strikes out 11 batters and gives up just one run while 1B Gary Allen goes 2 for 3 with a solo homer, a run and three RBI to lead the Tropics to another win.

Wullenweber pitched seven innings allowing just the one run on eight hits and walked none. He improves to 15-4 with a 3.10 ERA.

The Tropics also had homers from DH Ernest McBride (2 for 5, run, two RBI), Manny Garcia (1 for 4, run, two RBI) and LF Jose Camacho (2 for 4, run, RBI).



Hawaii wins 9-4.



Game 3- Hawaii SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani has forgotten his woes of 2045 as he puts up another strong start for the Tropics. Destefani pitched seven innings allowing just a run on five hits, walked one and truck out eight. He improves to 9-4 with a 3.16 ERA.

He was helped out by homers from McBride (2 for 3, run, three RBI), Ojeda (1 for 4, solo homer), SS Logan ‘LJ’ Niles (1 for 3, two runs, RBI) and LF Bastiao Fardos (3 for 4, run, four RBI, SB and CS).



Hawaii wins 9-4.



Game 4- The Tropics fall in fifteen inning but win the series three games to one.

SP Jesus Gonzalez made the start for Hawaii going six innings giving up three runs on five hits, walked one and struck out five in a no decision.

LF Bronx ‘Little Bron’ Cortez was 3 for 3 with a double, a solo homer, a run scored and an RBI.


Vancouver wins 5-4.



The Tropics hit the road again for a three game series against the Sacramento Mad Popes.



Game 1- The Mad Popes break a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the eighth on a sac fly to beat the Tropics in the series opener.

SP Zak ‘Hitman’ Johnson regressed to his old ways going 4 2/3 innings and surrendered four runs (three earned) on ten hits, a walk while striking out just two.

Ojeda was 1 for 4 with a two run homer.

Gary Allen was 1 for 3 with a solo shot.

Ernest McBride hit his 34th of the season with a walk.



Sacramento wins 5-4.



Game 2- The Sacramento Mad Popes shut down the Hawaii Tropics offense to take the second game of the series.

Tropics SP Bob McConnell took the mound and struggled from the start. McConnell had no feel of any of his pitches as he walked six, gave up six hits and five runs while striking out ZERO in 4 1/3 innings. He falls to 2-1 with a 5.14 ERA.

Hector Ojeda was 2 for 3 with an RBI.



Sacramento wins 5-1.



Game 3- The Mad Popes complete the sweep of the Tropics with a two run walk off homer. Hawaii Starter Alaric Wullenweber pitched 7 2/3 innings and gave up just three hits and a walk while striking out eight. He left in the eighth with a 1-0 lead. He gets the no decision and lowers his ERA to 2.95.

CF Michel Noel was 1 for 4 with a solo homer.



Sacramento wins 2-1 and sweeps the series.
