The Hawaii Tropics return home after that short three game road trip for a three game series against the Madison Wolves at Diamond Head.



Game 1- Hawaii SP Alaric Wullenweber pitched eight strong innings and the Tropics scored four runs in the sixth inning to take the lead for good in the series opener.

Wullenweber allowed just two runs on five hits. He walked one and struck out two batters as he improved to 11-2 with a 2.72 ERA.

CF Manny Garcia was 1 for 4 with a solo homer in the seventh inning.

3B Hector Ojeda remains hot going 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.

All Tropics starters recorded at least one hits but SS Logan ‘LJ’ Niles who went 0 for 2 with a sac bunt.

Hawaii wins 6-2.



Game 2- The Hawaii Tropics use the bats of Ron Shiplack, Mike Campbell and Jose Camacho to power by the Wolves.

Shiplack was 2 for 4 with a three runs homer, a run scored and four RBI to lead the offense. He received some help from Campbell. Campbell was 3 for 4 with a solo homer, two runs and an RBI. Camacho added a solo homer going 1 for 4 on the day.

SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani pitched 6 2/3 innings allowing four runs on ten hits. He walked three and struck out three to improve to 5-4 with a 4.10 ERA.

RP Patricio Goodair came on in relief of Destefani for 2 1/3 innings of work where he just gave up one hits and recorded a strikeout for his fourth save of the season.



Hawaii wins 6-4.



Game 3- Hawaii RF Mike Campbell fell a homer short of his second cycle of the season as the Tropics sweep the three game series with the Madison Wolves.

Campbell was 3 for 4 with a single, double and a triple. He scored a run and drove in two. On the season Campbell is hitting .346 with 22 homers and 58 RBI so far this season.

LF Bastiao Fardos was 4 for 4 with two runs scored.

Logan ‘LJ’ Niles was 1 for 3 with a solo homer, a walk, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base.

SP Jesus Gonzalez pitched 4 2/3 innings surrendering three runs on six hits, a walk and struck out three in a no decision.

RP Felipe Lopez came on in relief of Gonzalez and went 2 2/3 innings allowing just three hits and striking out three to earn the win. He is 2-4 on the season with a 3.11 ERA.



Hawaii wins 5-3.



The Hawaii Tropics go on another short three game road trip, this time to Seattle to face the Storm in a Pacific Division battle.



Game 1- The Seattle Storm led 7-0 after four innings then hold off a furious Hawaii barrage as they take the series opener.

SP Zak ‘Hitman’ Johnson struggles again going just three innings. He gave up six runs on seven hits, walked two and struck out two. He falls to 4-4 with a 6.64 ERA.

CF Manny Garcia was 3 for 3 with a solo homer, two runs scored and an RBI.

DH Ernest McBride was 1 for 4 with a solo homer.

3B Hector Ojeda was 1 for 3 with a two run homer. Ojeda is having a breakout season for Hawaii after bouncing around the league.



Seattle wins 7-5.



Game 2- The Tropics pound out 15 hits and score 10 runs as they overpower the Storm to even the series 1-1.

CF Michel Noel was 3 for 5 with two runs scored and two RBI.

1B Gary Allen has been quiet of late but he might ne showing signs of coming out of his slumber. Allen was 2 for 5 with a double, a homer, a run scored and two RBI.

Mike Campbell was 2 for 4 with a homer, two runs scored, an RBI , a walk and a stolen base.

Ernest McBride was 1 for 4 with a solo homer.

Ron Shiplack was 3 for 5 with a double, triple, a run scored and two RBI. Shiplack is hitting .341 with 9 homers and 39 RBI.

Logan Niles was 2 for 5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI.

The Tropics used a bullpen day to get the job done pitching the to the Storm. Patricio Goodair pitched 2 2/3 innings of relief to get the win. He allowed just one hit.



Hawaii wins 10-3.



Game 3- Seattle SP Ken ‘John John’ Walter and two relievers shut down the Hawaii offense allowing just five hits as the Storm shut out Hawaii to win the series.

Hawaii Starter Alaric Wullenweber was hit hard by the Storm lineup allowing eight runs on eleven hits and walk. He struck out three in 4 1/3 innings and falls to 11-3 on the season with a 3.22 ERA.

Hector Ojeda was 2 for 4 with a double to lead the Tropics.



Seattle wins 9-0 and wins the series 2-1.
