The Hawaii Tropics finish their 13 game road trip with a three game series against the Portland Lumberjacks.



Game 1- The Hawaii Tropics score five runs in the first inning then hold on for the win in the series opener.

1B Gary Allen was 4 for 4 with a triple and two runs scored.

2B Carlos Martinez was 2 for 5 with two doubles and two RBI.

Rookie SP Denny Hamilton was given the ball to start this game against the Lumberjacks. He responded with 5 1/3 innings allowing two runs on five hits and no walks. He struck out three to improve to 2-0 on the season.



Hawaii wins 7-5.



Game 2- Hawaii DH Ernest McBride was 3 for 5 with another Grand Slam, two runs scored and four RBI to lead the Tropics in a rout over the Lumberjacks.

Gary Allen was 2 for 5 with a double, a run scored and two RBI.

SP Ernie Poole pitched 4 2/3 innings allowing a run on six hits, walked three and struck out four batters.



Hawaii wins 10-2.



Game 3- The Hawaii Tropics offense is running on all cylinders right now as they punt out 16 hits and 11 runs against the Lumberjacks to complete the series sweep. McBride was 2 for 4 with a double, a three run homer, two runs scored and four RBI. Allen was 3 for 5 with a triple, three runs scored and two RBI.

SP Alaric Wullenweber wasn’t spectacular but he didn’t need to be on this day. He pitched six innings allowing five runs on ten hits and struck out six batters. He improved to 10-1 with a 2.66 ERA.



Hawaii wins 11-7 and sweeps the series.



The Hawaii Tropics return home for a three game series agains the Vancouver Mounties at Diamond Head.



Game 1- The Hawaii Tropics use timely hitting and good pitching to win their fourth in a row. SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani pitched 6 2/3 innings surrendering three runs on four hits with two walks and struck out six batters, He improves to 4-3 with a 3.97 ERA. He was followed by
RP Paul Goodair. Goodair pitched two innings walking one and striking out three.

Gary Allen was 1 for 3 with a two run homer.

RF Mike Campbell was 2 for 4 with a solo homer.



Hawaii wins 7-3.



Game 2- The Tropics score a run in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings to take a 5-2 lead then hold on for their fifth win in a row.

Gary Allen was 3 for 4 with a triple, two homers, three runs scored and three RBI.

SP Jesus Gonzalez pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up a run on four hits, walked two and struck out six.



Hawaii wins 5-4.



Game 3- The Tropics take the series finale in an extra inning walk off. Gary Allen was the hero once again as he stroked a 2-2 single that scored Michel Noel from second with the winning run. Allen finished the day 2 for 6 with an RBI.


SP Zak ‘Hitman’ Johnson pitched seven innings and gave up four runs on six hits while walking two. He struck out four in a no decision.



Hawaii wins 5-4 and sweeps the series.
