The Hawaii Tropics make their next stop in The Land of a Thousand Lakes for a three game series against the Twin Cities River Monsters.



Game 1-The Tropics score two runs in the top of the eleventh inning then hold on for a run one win in the series opener.

RF Mike Campbell was 3 for 5 with two doubles, a homer, a run scored and three RBI to lead the Tropics offense.

SP Zak ‘Hitman’ Johnson pitched five innings and gave up three runs on seven hits with two walks. He struck out six in a no decision.



Hawaii wins 5-4.



Game 2- The Tropics take an early 4-1 lead and then cruise to the win against the River Monsters.

Mike Campbell was 2 for 5 with a homer, two runs and two RBI.

DH Ernest McBride was 2 for 5 with a solo homer.

The Tropics used nine relievers to get through this game. In all, they gave up three runs on eight hits, two walks and struck out 6 batters.



Hawaii wins 7-3.



Game 3- The River Monsters score five runs off of Rookie SP Ernie Poole then withstand a furious charge by the Tropics in the top of the ninth to avoid the sweep.

Poole also allowed eight hits, a walk and struck out two in four innings of work.

C Ron Shiplack was 3 for 4 with a solo homer, two runs scored and an RBI.



Twin Cities wins the game 7-5 but Hawaii wins the series 2-1.



The Tropics return to the west coast for a four game series against the Valencia Stars.



Game 1- Hawaii SP Alaric Wullenweber is on fire right now. After his shut out in Yellow Springs, he follows that with a one hitter against the Stars in the series opener. The only hit was a homer off the bat of Stars 1B Jorge Estrada. Wullenweber walked none and struck out nine and improved to 9-1 on the season with a 2.35 ERA.

Ron Shiplack was 1 for 3 with a double, a walk, two runs scored and an RBI.



Hawaii wins 3-1.



Game 2- Hawaii SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani put together a fine outing going eight innings surrendering two runs on seven hits, two walks and struck out six. He evens his record at 3-3 with a 3.96 ERA.

Ernest McBride was 4 for 5 with a solo homer and a stolen base.

Mike Campbell was 2 for 4 with a double and three RBI.

3B Hector Ojeda was 1 for 5 and hit his 16th homer of the season.



Hawaii wins 6-2.



Game 3- The Tropics offense had eight hits but could not sustain a rally as the Stars shut Hawaii out.

SP Jesus Gonzalez pitched five innings giving up five runs on five hits, two walks and struck out five. He falls to 4-4 with a 4.02 ERA.

RP Felipe Lopez did a good job shutting the Stars down and eating some innings for the Tropics. He pitched three innings giving up no runs and no hits while striking out three.

Mike Campbell was 3 for 4.



Valencia wins 5-0.



Game 4- The Stars break a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the eighth and escape with a series split with the Tropics.

Zak Johnson pitched 5 2/3 innings and gave up two runs on five hits. He walked one and struck out five.

Felipe Lopez was brought on to pitch in the seventh inning in a questionable move by Tropics Manager Ricardo Morales. Lopez had pitched three innings the day before. Lopez gave the go ahead homer in the bottom of the eighth to take the loss.

Ernest McBride was 1 for 4 with a solo homer.

Mike Campbell was 1 for 4 with an RBI.



Valencia wins 3-2.
