The Hawaii Tropics hit the road to play a three game series against the Nashville Bluebirds at Les Paul Field.

Game 1- Nashville pitching allows the Tropics just two hits as the Bluebirds take the series opener.

DH Ernest McBride and LF Bastiao Fardos get the only two Hawaii hits. They both were 1 for 4 on the day.

Hawaii SP Zak ‘Hitman’ Johnson was awful going just three innings giving up seven runs on six hits, walking two and striking out three. He falls to 3-3 with a 6.97 ERA.

Nashville wins 7-0.

Game 2- The Hawaii offense had trouble getting anything going for the second straight game as the Bluebirds ensure a series win.

Rookie SP Ernie Poole stumbled again going 3 2/3 innings and giving up four runs (three earned) on seven hits while walking four batters. He struck out three and fell to 2-3 with a 4.31 ERA.

1B Gary Allen was 2 for 4.

3B Hector Ojeda was 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI.

Nashville wins 7-1.

Game 3- The Tropics offense comes out of their slumber scoring a run in the eighth and four in the ninth to avoid a sweep.

Hector Ojeda was 1 for 4 with his 9th homer of the season, a three run set in the ninth.

Bastiao Fardos was 1 for 3 with an RBI.

SP Alaric Wullenweber kept the Tropics in the game giving 7 2/3 innings of good work. He allowed two runs on three hits, issued two walks and struck out eight.

Hawaii wins 5-2 but Nashville wins the series 2-1.

The Hawaii Tropics travel to San Fernando for a four game series against the Bears at Chico Bail Bonds Field.

Game 1- Tropics 3B Hector Ojeda hit a Grand Slam and SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani was solid as Hawaii takes the series opener.

Ojeda was 2 for 5 with two runs and four RBI.

C Ron Shiplack was 4 for 4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI.

Destefani pitched seven innings giving up just a run on five hits, a walk and struck out one. He improves to 2-2 with a 4.66 ERA.

Hawaii wins 8-1.

Game 2- The Bears even the series 1-1 with a four run eighth inning to get the win.

Hawaii RP Luis Santiago gave up two runs in 1/3 of an inning to take the loss.

SP Jesus Gonzalez watched his good game go to waste after leaving the game up 2-0. Gonzalez went 6 1/3 innings and allowed just two hits, walked two and struck out five.

Hector Ojeda hits another bomb going 2 for 4 with a run and an RBI.

San Fernando wins 4-2.

Game 3- The Bears and Tropics score four runs apiece in the final four innings but Hawaii wins by a hair.

Hector Ojeda hits another homer going 1 for 4 with a two run shot in the second inning.

RF Mike Campbell was 3 for 4 with a homer, three runs scored and an RBI.

Ron Shiplack was 1 for 4 with a two run homer.

Hawaii wins 6-5.

Game 4- The Bears walk it off with a bases loaded walk to split the series with a Tropics 2-2.

Ernie Poole was hammered again going 2 2/3 innings and giving up seven runs on nine hits and a walk. He struck out two in a no decision.

The only time I enjoy seeing Hawaii win is when they beat the damn Bears.

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.
