The Hawaii Tropics return home after the shirt three game road trip for a three games series against division rival Long Beach. The Surfers have struggled to begin the season but always play the Tropics tough.



Game 1- The Long Beach Surfers pitching staff shut down the Tropics hitters to take the opener. Hawaii could manage just four hits and were issued just three walks.

Hawaii SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani pitched 6 2/3 innings and gave up two runs on four hits while walking three. He struck out four batters and took the loss.

CF Manny Garcia, 1B Gary Allen, LF Bastiao Fardos and 2B Carlos Martinez all posted 1 for 3 days at the plate.



Long Beach wins 3-0.



Game 2- The Tropics pitching staff turn the tables on the Surfers to even the series. Hawaii SP Jesus Gonzalez pitched seven solid innings allowing just one hit and struck out six. He improves to 1-2 with a 3.18 ERA.

Backup Catcher Norberto ‘Trout’ Salinas was 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored.

RF Mike Campbell was 1 for 3 with an RBI.



Hawaii wins 2-0.



Game 3- The Hawaii Tropics get a good start out of Zak ‘Hitman’ Johnson and a Grand Slam of the bat of 3B Hector Ojeda to win the series against the Surfers.

Johnson pitched 6 2/3 innings giving up a run on four hits, walked two and struck out seven. He improves to 2-2 and lowers his ERA to 5.85.

RP Felipe Lopez seems to have found something this season. He pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up just three hits and struck out one. He has posted a 1.93 ERA so far.

Ojeda was 1 for 3 with a Grand Slam.



Hawaii wins 6-1 and wins the series 2-1.



The Tropics remain at home for a three game series with the Sacramento Mad Popes at Diamond Head.



Game 1- The Mad Popes steal the series opener with a four run top of the ninth.

SP Ernie Poole allowed four runs on eight hits over 6 1/3 innings of work. He walked none and struck out one in getting a no decision.

Just as it seemed that Felipe Lopez had finally turned the corner he allowed four runs on three hits in an inning and a third to take the loss.

CF Michel Noel was 4 for 5 with a run scored and a stolen base.

Mike Campbell was 3 for 4 with a homer, two runs and an RBI.

LF Bronx ‘Little Bron’ Cortez was 1 for 4 with a solo homer.



Sacramento wins 8-4.



Game 2- Hawaii Ace Alaric Wullenweber signs an extension then allows two runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings to earn his fourth win of the season. He walked two and struck out six.

Mike Campbell was 1 for 4 with a solo homer.

Hector Ojeda remains hot going 1 for 3 with a two run homer.



Hawaii wins 4-3.



Game 3- The Hawaii Tropics score a game tying run in the eighth on a run scoring single by Ron Shiplack then get a walkoff solo homer oof the bat of Gary Allen to win the series against the Mad Popes.

Niccolo Destefani pitched seven innings allowing three runs on nine hits, two walks and struck out one.

RP Patricio Goodair pitched two innings allowing just a hit, a walk and struck out one to get the win.

Bastiao Fardos was 1 for 5 with a solo homer.

Allen was 1 for 5.



Hawaii wins 4-3 and wins the series 2-1.
