The Hawaii Tropics finish the home stand with a three game series against the Des Moines Kernels at Diamond Head.



Game 1- Des Moines allows three runs early then shut down the Hawaii offense to take teh series opener.

Hawaii SP Alaric Wullenweber threw a stinker going four innings and giving up seven runs on ten hits and struck out six batters. He falls to 2-1 on the season with a 4.09 ERA.

CF Michel Noel was 2 for 4 with a double, triple, a run scored and an RBI.



Des Moines wins 7-3.



Game 2- The Kernels pummel the Tropics and guarantee a series win.

Tropics SP Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani faltered going 3 2/3 innings giving up seven runs (four earned) on nine hits while striking out three. He falls to 1-1 with a 5.56 ERA.

SS Logan ‘LJ’ Niles was 1 for 4 with a RBI.



Des Moines wins 11-3.



Game 3- Des Moines slugger Hugh Mangrouthormone crushes a grand slam to lead the Kernesl to the sweep of the Tropics in Hawaii.

Hawaii SP Jesus Gonzalez gave up five runs on six hits and two walks over seven innings of world. He struck out six batters but falls to 0-2 on the season with a 4.22 ERA.

C Ron Shiplack was 1 for 4 with a solo homer.



Des Moines wins 5-2.



The Tropics pay a visit to Portland for a three game series against the Lumberjacks.



Game 1- The Lumberjacks tied the game in extras then take the win in the bottom of the eleventh with a walk off homer to extend the Hawaii losing streak to four games.

SP Zak ‘Hitman’ Johnson continues the string of lackluster starts for the Tropics with four innings of uninspired pitching. He Gabe up five runs on nine hits and struck out two batters.

Ron Shiplack had a big day for Hawaii at the plate going 4 for 5 with a triple, a run and three RBI.

3B Hector Ojeda slammed two homers for Hawaii going 3 for 5 with three runs scored and two RBI.



Portland wins 10-9.



Game 2- The Tropics lose the game in the bottom of the eighth as Hawaii has now lost 5 in a row.

Tropics starter Ernie Poole did his part going seven innings giving up just three runs on eight hits and a walk. He struck out three batters but takes the loss.

CF Manny Garcia was 1 for 3 with a solo homer.

Logan Niles was 1 for 4 with a solo homer.



Portland wins 3-2.



Game 3- The Tropics break out with 11 runs on 15 hits as they break the losing skid and salvage a game in the series.

Alaric Wullenweber pitched 6 2/3 innings surrendering two runs on six hits, a walk and struck out seven men. He improves to 3-1 with a 3.86 ERA.

Ron Shiplack has been a hitting machine as of late. He went 2 for 4 with a Grand Slam for Hawaii. He scored two runs and drove in four.

RF Mike Campbell may be starting to heat up again. Campbell was 3 for 5 with a two runs homer. He scored twice and drove in two runs.



Hawaii wins 11-3.
