The Hawaii Tropics begin the ‘second half’ of the 2045 BBA Season at home with a four game series against the Chicago Black Sox. The Tropics are 1-3 vs the Black Sox this season.



Game 1- The Tropics score four runs in the bottom of the seventh to break open the game and win the series opener. Hawaii scored two runs on a rare error by Black Sox second baseman Rocky Wattson on an easy ground ball off the bat of Jack “Junkyard” Nichols. Two runners scored on the play to put the Trops up 7-5. Then CF Michel Noel stroked a line drive two run homer that left the park as fast as the pitch went to home plate to give the Tropics a 9-5 lead.

SP Zak Johnson went six innings for Hawaii allowing five runs on nine hits and struck out seven. He received a no decision.

C Ron Shiplack was 2 for 4 with a homer, two runs scored and an RBI.

LF Jose Camacho was 2 for 3 with two doubles and three runs scored.

Noel finished the game 4 for 4 with a two run homer, a double, two runs scored and three RBI.



Hawaii wins 9-5.



Game 2- The Black Sox batter a shell shocked Niccolo “Notorious” Destefani as they even the series 1-1. Destefani pitched five innings and gave up six runs (five earned) on eight hits (three homers), a walk and struck out three. He falls to 4-11 on the season with a 4.73 ERA.

LF Bastiao Fardos seems to be getting hot gain after a cold spell going 2 for 4 with two doubles, a walk, two runs scored and three RBI.

DH Ernest McBride was 2 for 5 with a double, a run and an RBI.



Chicago wins 9-6.



Game 3- The Tropics jump out to a 3-0 lead then watch the Black Sox chip away at that lead one run at a time and escape with a win. Chicago made Hawaii SP Alaric Wullenweber throw 100 pitches in just 4 2/3 innings of work. He gave up two runs on five hits, walked two and struck out seven in a no decision.

CF Manny Garcia was 1 for 3 with a walk and an RBI.

1B Gary Allen was 1 for 4 with an RBI.



Chicago wins 5-3.



Game 4- The Chicago Black Sox score in every inning except the fifth and win a slugfest with the Tropics to win the series 3-1.

Hawaii SP Jesus Gonzalez is continuing to have a nightmare season. Gonzalez gave up six runs on six hits, two walks and three strikeouts in three innings.

Ron Shiplack was 2 for 4 with a homer, two runs scored and an RBI.

RF Mike Campbell was 2 for 3 with two homers, three runs, four RBI and worked two walks.

Gary Allen was 2 for 5 with a homer, a run and two RBI.



Chicago wins 17-10.



The Tropics continue their home stand with a four game series against the Madison Wolves. The Tropics are seeking their first wins against the Wolves this season.



Game 1- Hawaii SP Bob McConnell stopped the three game slide with a win against the Wolves. McConnell pitched 5 2/3 innings and gave up a run on four hits, two walks and struck out two. He improves to 4-8.

Mike Campbell was 4 for 5 with two runs scored.

Manny Garcia was 1 for 5 with a two run homer.



Hawaii wins 8-1.



Game 2- The Tropics get a walk off two run homer off the bat of Bastiao Fardos to go up 2-0 in the series. Fardos ended the day 2 for 3 with a walk, a run and two RBI.

Ernest McBride was 1 for 3 with a homer, a walk, two runs and an RBI.

SP Zak Johnson pitched four innings and surrendered three runs on six hits, walked four batters and struck out six.



Hawaii wins 4-3.



Game 3- Madison scored three runs in the eighth and held on for a win. Nice Destefani pitched just 4 2/3 innings and gave up four runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk while striking out three but he falls to 4-12.

Manny Garcia was 1 for 4 with a solo homer.

Mike Campbell was 1 for 2 with a two run homer and two walks.



Madison wins 7-4.



Game 4- Alaric Wullenweber received a second loss after the All Star game debacle. Wullenweber pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up four runs on eight hits, a walk and struck out six. He falls to 11-5 with a 3.01 ERA.

Ron Shiplack was 3 for 4 with a run and an RBI. Shiplack is hitting .299 with 9 homers and 52 RBI.

Gary Allen was 1 for 4 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI.



Madison wins 6-3.

The Wolves and Tropics split the series 2-2.

I did not realize i was undefeated vs you until this post. I know we've beaten wullenweber 2x this season, but that was all
